60GB is discontinued. there are still plenty of them around, but i personally think they will all go this holiday season. dont forget that the 20 and 60 GB models are the only ones that are fully BC...
I would personally still get the 20 or 60 GB model if you can still find them. i have the 60 and BC is SOOOO important to me.
you know what i'm playing now? Final Fantasy 9, thats a 4 disk PS1 game. i just made it to disk 2.
Playing my fav games, upconverted to 1080p, and the ability to very easly transfer them to my PSP make this model priceless..
if you dont have any old school favs, or you're 14 and were not around, then i guess go for the chea...

its just another S-S-Shooter, that requires no brain thought to play, just reflexes. a freaking tiger has great reflexes and could probably play the game.

I have the Samsung p1200 Bluray, the PS3, and the Xbox360 HD-DVD add on drive.
Its sad actually, as $200.00 for at least an HD-DVD player is really cheap... if you make $5.00 and hour, and put 10% into savings (like you should be) it would only take 10 weeks to get one(i know its pre tax, if you only getting $5.00 an hour you better be of the books!), and they are going on 2 years old. and Blu-Ray players are down to $400.00 now, come on ppl.

he nailed it. hold the software developers accountable for release dates. dont let Square Enix take an extra 2.5 Years to release Final Fantasy, like they did on the PSP. If you start putting the pressure on the devs, they will either drop PS3 support (good, if they can keep up) or start "meeting deadlines"

Saying "video games promote violance" is the same EXACT arguement as "movies promote violance". there is 0 differance. I would not worry about this too much, the "old folks" who still think video games are "the devil" are all about to die off soon anyway...
it only allows you to watch recorded shows... i watch LIVE TV on my motoq via sling box all the time. really helps when the games starts before you get home =)
aside from Oblivion, this is the best game i own on the PS3 (hate shooters, so RfoM does not count)
the 1080p is what really sells it, it just looks great, blows any lolbox game away.
the controls are easy, you just can go NUTZ with it like ppl were doing wen the wii came out. calm the frack down and just barely move the controler num-nutz...

no doubt! and i HATE it, FFCC was anounded for the PSP before the psp itself was released 2+ years ago and its JUST comming out in JPN..
but... they always release A+++ titles, but honestly ill settle for an A+ title if you can dish it out in < .25 a decade!!!
i peronally belive there are so many FFXIII's to meet everyones needs, and for SE to relase their "new stuff"
they have been trying to make the FF series more "american" with action RPG's. ffxii was an ok start, but when it comes to FF, i want a old fastion JRPG that is turn based.
I'm willing to bet one version of 13 will be action based, one will be traditional turned based, and w/e this is may be something completly new.
Well, FF CC was delayed for over 2 years now, so the demand has backed up for 2 + years... i swear, it BETTER be good or im losing all faith in SE making new games... last good FF out of them was FF3 remake for the DS... hey SE, ppl who like FF like JRPG's. stop trying to make them american RPG's.....
I picked up one on Wed and been using it a lot. I agree with the cons here, but they are really not "cons". while you may "think" the battery feels unsecure, or you "think" the UMD tray is flimsy. there has not been a major failure like RROD on the "ture" cheasy media drive on the 360 (for example).
BUT, there is def something going on here.

Look, the lolbox is doing well and a lot of that is because someone working at McD'd can afford it in a matter of months, where a PS 3 would take them a year of saving!!
the lol box can come with NO HDD, NO WIFI, and still sell like hot cakes.
Sell a 20GB version again with no WIFI, but make an adaptor and charge the hell for it (like the $100 lolbox one)

the PSP has a full PS1 emulator in it. that, in theory, can play any ps1 game. you have to "unlock" your PSP to allow full access to it. While in a legal standpoint, its completly legal IF you actually own the PS1 games you rip. because Sony still makes money on PS1 sales (where the heck this is, idk) they are strongly against unlocked PSP, hence dark alexs "retirement"
