As much work developers have to put into a modern aaa game these days I can see the price for them jumping a bit without pay to win bs. These aren't little ps2 games anymore. Not defending corporate greed but as games get bigger and sharper loot boxes were likely a way to compensate.
Switch is in fact a ninth gen console but how many consumers do you think are aware of that? I can guarantee you its success isn't because "it's a ninth gen console no fair."

Looking at smt4 and its sequel I wouldn't count on it. People are hurt that they aren't getting a game in a traditionally nintendo series but this is no surprise.
Eternal darkness, Remake, re4, mgs:ts and several others didn't stop them from calling gamecube "kiddie". It's the best insult they have because playstation/xbox doesn't have lasting ips like mario or pokemon in addition to their m-rated games.

N64 isn't hard to top imo. It was great in its time but grainy graphics and weird controller haven't aged well. Gamecube was easily better.

Funny thing is I was just checking metacritic so I could troll and the page refreshed dropping the game from 76 to 75.
