Well there is a reason for Pride parades/month and your gay friend should look up the history. It's not like the parade was just some dudes saying we should throw a fabulous parade. It was a movement for equality. Your friend should thank the drag queens and misfits of society that allow him to be your gay best friend instead of a depressed friend in the closet. Reach the most people = get the most dollars. Yes, you will lose hardcores, but they will make that up with more from other demographics.
