I can't wait for episode 2 of D4, such a criminally underrated game
Deus Ex?
If you're interested in the genre, I'd recommend the three recent Shadowrun games by the way. They're made by some of the guys behind the original tabletop game (but not the SNES classic, sadly) and are pretty great CRPGs
The pop in was hardly noticable outside of New LA
The more System Shock 2 itches and the less Infinite ones it scratches the better
I've waited 16 years for this game, I can wait a bit longer.
Metal Gear was heavily inspired by western movies like Escape From New York and was incredibly western in design. If an American made any of those games no one would even stop to think about a possible japanese influence.
It's an objective fact that JRPGs owe their existence to Wizardry too. Dragon Quest was literally made as an attempt to copy Wizardry by the creator's own admission and went on to inspire the whole genre.
There's plenty of ...
Both were, Warren Spector was heavily involved in System Shock and went on to direct Deus Ex, which borrowed heavily from Shock's game design, while Ken Levine and a bunch of ex-Looking Glass guys who worked on System Shock 2 went on to make Bioshock
Like Hideo Kojima, Tetsuya Takahashi, Hideaki Itsuno and Hidetaka Miyazaki, just to name a few?
There's plenty of successful developers who follow a western game design. Hell, the entire JRPG genre owes itself to Wizardry.
This is exactly the kind of news I like to hear, System Shock 2 is one of my favourite games ever made
I'd much rather a properly developed XCOM than a rushed Civ game that relies on expansions to add depth
The trailers honestly don't do the game justice, even though the technical aspects may be dragged down by the Wii U, I don't think any modern game comes close to the spectacle of Xenoblade X in motion

this has been helping me a lot, but yeah that alongside locking you into affinity missions when you accept them are my only annoyances, and even then I can happily overlook them
I've been playing this game non-stop since it came out, it's set the new gold standard for open world RPGs
@DivineAssault the Wii U doesn't use blu ray discs, but their own proprietary discs that are similar to blu rays but only hold 25 gb.
I'm just enjoying downloading the 15 gb data packs on a typically slow Australian internet connection. The Wii U download management song is becoming burnt into my brain
Saturday can't come any faster
From what I've heard from importers, the story is still excellent but Monolith just went for a less direct storytelling method than their previous games
And you've finished both when X hasn't even been released yet?
Megami Tensei has been dealing with dozens of real world religions for almost 30 years
