I've been very vocal about my dislike for Halo 4 and my apathy towards Reach, but Halo 5 is excellent.
It fixed all the questionable design choices from Reach and 4, while greatly improving the mechanics and multiplayer map design.
The campaign was far from the trainwreck everyone makes it out to be. There were a lot of fun levels and the soundtrack was great. The story wasn't nearly as bad as everyone says, it could just use more Chief and less ...
Definitely going to have to have a look at this, I heard the source material was written by the same author of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, which is my favourite anime ever made
I'm still only half way through Dragonfall, but that's great news. I can't wait to play Hong Kong
The problem is that the game didn't sell enough on consoles to cover the costs of porting it, while it sold millions on the PC.
It's a shame, especially with how well the game played on consoles, but that's just how business works I guess.
This can't come any faster, I can only replay IV so many times
I completely forgot about that game. What a disappointment it was.
It's a shame to see a game made by the guys behind Diablo 2 do so badly.
Asylum and City were actually really great ports, it was only Origins that had problems and that wasn't developed by Rocksteady.
Unlike Asylum and City, Knight's PC port wasn't handled internally but was instead passed on to some small, shovelware dev who were given a tiny amount of time to port it over, which was why it's such a mess.
A voice acting article without mention of Legacy of Kain? No other game has come close to the quality of acting in that series
A lot of the story had to be cut out because of time and budgetary constraints, which is why there's so much stuff that goes nowhere.
There was a few presentations where they talked about what they wanted to do with the game's story and it was pretty interesting stuff. There was even plans for the player to travel to the moon.
You do get a choice though. You can choose one of the four routes and have to deal with the fact that it will ruin your reputation with the other factions.
It's entirely up to the player as to what content they get to see or not
New Vegas isn't a game where you can do everything, just like a lot of the older RPGs.
Your choices have consequences, and the world adapts around them in a way that makes sense. The NCR aren't going to ask a guy who was helping out the Legion to protect their President from assassination and give him complete access to Hoover Dam, just like how they aren't going to want Mr House sitting around waiting for them to fight off the Legion. To get rid of that stuff just so yo...
I'd honestly put XII just behind VI as the best Final Fantasy
That's what I'm saying, Atlus and Nintendo stopped referring to it as SMT x FE in the Nintendo direct
It's not a Shin Megami Tensei game anymore and hasn't been for almost a year now
Now I'm paying attention
Surprised that no one is mentioning Xenoblade Chronicles X. While the individual textures and models aren't exactly pretty, the complete package is incredible
Isabeau and Flynn are in the games, and Isabeau is a companion for at least part of the game.
Walter and Jonathan appear, but like they did before their boss fights. They're still fused with Merkabah and Lucifer
Microsoft don't really have draconian exclusivity agreements when most of them let games be released on PC, just like Sony have with Kojima.
Hell, they let a lot of their exclusive games like Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata, Mass Effect, Lost Planet and Oblivion all go to the PS3 last generation
That's great news, Don Bradman Cricket 2014 was easily the best cricket game made
Game engines are built internally by developers fairly regularly.
Monolith Soft built a game with well over 100 hours of content along with a brand new engine in the space of five years with a much smaller budget that Kojima Productions.
343i made a new engine for Halo 5 and developed the game in the space of 3 years.
Larian (who are essentially an indie studio at this point) created both an aRPG and a cRPG along with a brand new engine over four years.
