you can watch streams from anywhere, granted they have a proper connection.
But you can also store a HD media file, dump it on a portable, and watch it wherever you want, on any device that can play media, like media hubs, pc's etch.
The cell will soon no longer be a selling point for the ps3, just like the emotion engine in the ps2, it will just fade in its hype.
Lets take intel as a comparison, they will release the larabee, a GPU/CPU styled processor with similarities to the cell, sounds neat right ?
Only intel will also release the sandy bridge, which is the follow up of the nehalem, a sandy bridge + sperate video card will annihilate the larabee.

why ?
even if ps3 would be 200 bucks, i still would not buy it, it first needs games i am interested in, i am sure theres many people that feel the same way.
Thats why people buy a 360, not because its cheaper, but because it has more western styled games.
360, by the time the ps3 catches up, we will be on the 720 and ps4.
By then the ps3 will outsell the 360, but it wil also be demoted to the level of what the ps2 is now.
Afterall, when the 720 and the ps4 are out, whos gonna care about last gen.

Did you know that in theory even a pentium 2 can match its power, you can crank it up until it gets hot like a volcano, as long as you cool it properly, you can keep clocking a processer up.
actually, the system is more like 1100 euro, and before you know it games start coming out again that makes the ps3 look like a ps2.

dvd has the space too, game came on 2 dvd's if they would be dying to insert jap dialog, they could cram a third disc in.

pffffff, the cell is run over by the x58 architecture, and by the time the cell 2 is out, it will be meaningless compared to what amd and intel will have out.
Why you ask ?
Because Intel and AMD are lightyears ahead in research and development, and invest 10 x as much money as the remaining competition.
they are definitaly technically equal, they both have their cons and pro's
sony fans just still cant swallow that they had to wait a full year before they could get their fav console, and that they have to pay more for the same.
which is why they keep this cell hype alive.
