well, western rpg's have always been around, and more or less always been around the quality they are now.
Only this is the first gen they have been so widely avaible on consoles, instead of only on PC.
Western RPG's just never lost their touch, they just switched platform.
And more western rpg goodness is on the way.
ALpha protocol, Mass effect 2, Deus EX3, Omicron (all 2009)
many companies have.
Mass effect, Oblivion, Tales of vesperia, Fallout, Lost oddysey etch.
Those are all better then what SE produced on 360 and PS3
maybe devs should stop being innovative, and go back to creating games in the formula they worked.
Like FF7 and FF6, those games where pretty basic, but a whole lot more fun then modern day rpg,s

I mentioned that game because i am playing it right now, and i have more fun with it then i had with FF12/X/X-2 on my ps2
If i wanted to list an awesome rpg i would have mentioned Mass effect, but i already finished that game.
