The EyeToy is nothing like Kinect. Kinect uses infrared light and can be use in any light setting with any colors as it works on the outside of the visible color spectrum.
Kinect has a motor that tracks you are a room and keeps focus on you while you move. Kinect can sense depth and is was more precise than the Eyetoy.
The EyeToy is very primitive compared to Kinect in ever regard.

A Blu-Ray drive by itself costs Sony $200 per you must be out of your mind.
You can now get a 4x Blu-Ray drive for $60 on Newegg, the price per drive for Sony is going to be way lower. Microsoft would have to take a hit and pay royalties to Sony in order to use a Blu-Ray drive and maybe they aren't up for that just yet.
I'm still holding out for games to be sold on flash drives so you save your games to the drive and almost instant read times.
It has not been done before, EyeToy is a more primitive version of Kinect. Kinect is a way more capable device and a more precise device. EyeToy cannot recreate what was shown in the demonstration at E3.

I would guess it will be atleast a little more of a premium.
Also why would it hurt Kinect? Even if they were you are still forced to by multiple controllers to have more than one person play Move while in Kinect requires no extra peripherals.

Kinect is their first and will be competing with Move so it is a smart move to wait and see what Sony will do first.
