Forza Horizon 2 is doing very well considering the smaller install base.
Forza 5 was on the UK charts for over 6 months, I suspect FH2 will have the same staying power?
You can actually take your statement and switch the "X1" for "360"

It's well know and applauded that the 360 is not the same console in 2014 that it was in 2005.
That's the beauty of these consoles, continuous improvement.

The Bundle is the same price as the console with no game, so you can't lose.
If you really don't want the game then sell it, or give it to a friend as a gift, doesn't matter if it's a disc or a code.
Welcome to the year 2013, were Sony decided to follow MS lead and started charging for online play. An attempt to pull them out of 7 years of straight losses in the BILLIONS and a credit rating of Junk as set by both Moody's and Fitch.

Good question
First off GOW is rumoured to release in 2016, that would make the 360 ELEVEN years old. A very long time for a console to be supported, but not unheard of.
They could do it like Forza Horizon 2, TWO different developers, or 2 teams. That way the X1 would have the same advantages as FH2:
higher resolution
more content (700 events vs 500 in FH2) a matter of disc size, multi DVD vs BlueRay
dynamic weather and ligh...
What's interesting is that the developer states:
"More servers, upgrades & updates are coming online tomorrow & next week. Keep trying."
This flies in the face of those who said it had nothing to do with the number of servers.
Clearly a robust server network is an asset.
