Yeah letting it stay stagnant sucks, even if you build a new PC every 4-5 years its not that much in cost. Maybe £200 or so a year.. I bet people waste way more than that by going out drinking too much shit and smoking all crap that's bad for them.
In just 3-4 yrs console will be way behind again and have poor framerates.. so if it lasts as long as last gen, it won't be so good.
@ABizzel, you serious? 290 won't be low end in 2 years.. medium...
They're still busy with Source engine 2 which will be awesome. The first one plus HL2 was made in 6 or less years. Source 2 has now been in development for 3 years, it won't be much longer until something is shown.
Rome wasn't built in a day ;)
Dreamcast was the console that brought the end of arcades having the edge in graphics IMO, Soul Calibur had graphics just as good as the arcade version and i actually think it was enhanced somewhat? Maybe the backgrounds, i forget.
If Mantle is successful then consoles won't have that advantage.
Plus a mix of DDR3 and GDDR5 memory is better than having mainly just GDDR5.
I only ever played MP1 on the N64 but i thought it was pretty enjoyable, i heard only the first few are actually much good and the later ones not so much.
All they need to do is release one with all the good mini games of past MP games, and online multiplayer. None of that extra luck factor bs either.
Voice recognition has always been patchy at best, it could probably mistake Tick for Dick.. they are likely just opening themselves up to a lot of tech support issues with this.
Both Dead Island's are overrated IMO, the best Zombie/Infected games are Left 4 Dead 2 and Killing Floor, well when it comes to fun anyway.
I haven't actually played it yet, i am just going by what i've read and played of 3D Land.
Thankfully the special worlds should make up for it.
Is this why they made the first half of 3D World so easy? -.-
Rockstar make good games, the only problem i have with them is when they sacrifice fun for details..
One big example, GTA San Andreas to GTA IV, such a big step back.
So hopefully we don't learn they start taking out features for extra minor details, if anything they should have AT LEAST the same amount of stuff as in their previous titles.
Also, fun > realism.
Indeed, you can only build yourself a much more awesome PC for half that price..
Not likely, PC is obviously the first and most important target audience. Plus the Steambox is just a mini PC anyway. Rather continue building my own than getting a Steambox. Probably still cheaper and more power.
One of the few games that has always deserved such high review scores IMO..
And a primary reason to be a PC gamer, after all it was Valve who gave us the hugely popular Steam xD.
The Source 2 engine has been in development since late 2010 for anyone not living under a rock.. So yes, it won't be much longer before a game is shown running on it.
I will definitely be upgrading my PC, or at least buy a nice new graphics card to play it at 60/120fps.
The thing i'm most excited about is seeing how much the physics will have improved, i want to see realistic spreading fire and water etc.. maybe water that actually floods area's a...
I think 4/5 is practically 9/10.. it's a different scoring system, both are only 1 point away from a perfect score so it makes sense.
Predicting sales is like predicting the weather, it's not always going to go like you might expect.
I think Steam sales prove enough that piracy isn't as bad as people make out, if someone wants to pirate a good game shame on them, because half the time i find the multiplayer keeps it going for a long time. And having an illegal copy of a game = no online multiplayer.
So they might think they are getting free games, but they also miss out on a lot as well.
From the past..?
It's Crytek, what do you expect? They do the same on PC.. just interested in having top graphics, mediocre game. The fact their games always run below par (30fps) pretty much proves it.
Why not good graphics and great game?
I'm not a pervert!, i was just looking for a Turbo Man doll!.
