My thoughts exactly. The common man in the street has never heard of Valve or Steam. They will need to spend more money than it's worth on advertising if they want these to sell to anyone other than hardcore gamers and gadget freaks.
I seriously doubt it, they will be cool and all, but they'll be a niche product at best.
I haven't got a PS4 yet sadly so haven't played the full game, but I played the in store demo of Knack and instantly wonders what the hell is wrong with all the reviewers these days, I thought the demo was great!
I also have a 3 year old son who will love it so I'll definitely be getting it. I honestly think some reviewers have been a bit too harsh on all the launch games, clearly expecting too much me thinks.
I don't pretend to know about this stuff like some others. But I read similar comments from other devs, I think it was the guys who made NFS. They said that basically the PS4 isn't "more difficult" to develop for, it's just different. Basically he said that the Xbox one version is essentially exactly the same as the PC version (in terms of programming not performance obviously) because they are both DX based whereas the PS4 is not.
So it's not harde...
Sadly yes, we will be doing this for at least most of the next 10yrs. Has history taught you nothing!?
Speak for yourself. HL2 is and always will be my favourite game ever. If HL3 doesn't come out for another 20yrs I'll still be hyped for it!
As long as it's even half the game HL2 was it will be awesome.
I'd like to see an Alien Swarm sequel too tbh, with proper controller support this time, it's got twin stick shooter written all over it. Some games defo play better with m&k, fps, rts etc but top down shooters need a controller!
Hopefully not, but they may have to start having a big delay on them and more moderation.
It has it's own proprietary connector, not usb, that connects at the back of the console. Dunno how long the cable is.
Again this kinda supports the whole argument of everyone wanting and expecting everything for nothing these days.
I paid £350 for a launch day original PlayStation back in the day and I didn't think it was over priced!
People need to get their head out the clouds and stop with the entitlement bull crap that seems to exist in today's society. But hey that's a whole new argument about modern parenting and global economics!
I think it's more to do with economic climate as well. People want everything for nothing these days and companies are forced to meet their demands. Which leads to lesser products.
Imagine what Sony could have given us if they'd went for a $600 price point again, and sold at a loss? I'm sure our minds would have been blown.
But the sad fact is that neither us or Sony can afford $600 consoles anymore. I know I couldn't and I know Sony certainly couldn't affo...
Locked out!? A bit over dramatic don't you think, all you do is change your password and you're back online!
I'm not gonna defend them though, I was the first person I know to get this a few days back and it did worry me. I think Sony need to tell the absolute truth about this one and if they're gonna do mandatory password updates then they at least need to let people know in advance!
I was wondering about this too, I have The DFGT wheel and I don't really fancy buying a new one when this one works fine.
Better to go to bed early and set an alarm. I stayed up for E3 and it nearly killed me!
I had two guys in my BF:BC2 clan who were grandads, both in their late 50's. Also my old man still games, he is a hardcore EVE addict and I made him a grandad a couple of years back :)
One loss I mourned more than any others this gen was Sony Studio Liverpool (Psygnosis) WipEout is my favourite gaming series by a large margin. They were a hugely talented bunch and I think it was a wrong move by Sony :(
My son is 2.5 now and the other day I was planning on playing with him and he said "no daddy, go and play your game." in a stern voice I found it rather amusing and duly did what he instructed lol.
Amnesia The Dark Descent is by far the scariest game I've ever played. It was actually a very unpleasant experience at some points!
"We don't need no water let the motherfucker burn!"
To be fair I let my son who is 2.5 years old use my ipad, I obviously don't let him on it for long as I'm not a shit parent. But in a lot of ways it has been good for him, he learns a lot through some of the apps. In between the piles of shite f2p games and micro transactions there is actually some really good educational apps for kids.
At not even 3 years old he knows the full alphabet, and not just remembering the song, he can identify each and every letter. He can also coun...
