Never in my life did I ever think that CRT’s would make a comeback lol
That being said, if you are a retro game collector, CRT’s are a must for old consoles.

I'm seeing that it leaked as well. Playstation Japan's account accidentally posted a welcome Bluepoint graphic before it was removed. People took screenshots.

All of the truly great Final Fantasies have one thing in common: Hironobu Sakaguchi. When he left, the series was never the same.
That being said, FF7r is a fantastic game and probably my favorite entry since FF9.

I think so too. E3 was a product of its time when the industry would get together and disseminate news to the press all in one go. Nowadays with the internet, it’s really not necessary. The industry can bypass the convention and go straight to their audience via shows like Nintendo Direct and State of Play.
It’s sad though. I have some fond memories of E3.

As someone who has worked in the industry, I can tell you that a lot of getting an INTERVIEW is who you know. Beyond that though, you're on your own, especially in the AAA space. Tens to hundreds of millions of dollars get poured into these projects and a lot of interviewees have to go through multiple interviews from multiple people across multiple days from which they all have to agree to bring you on. They don't bring on just anybody and even Cory Barl...

I would expect it to hit mainstream when the technology has reached the point where it’s as easy as throwing on a pair of sunglasses and has widespread support.
The potential applications outside of gaming are too big to ignore. I’m thinking virtual classrooms, meetings, medical applications, even space exploration. I really hope NASA and/or SpaceX send up a VR camera to Mars at some point.
But right now, it’s too cumbersome to be anything but niche. Especially room-scale VR...

Yeah, maybe a save and quit back to the title screen function, then when you load it, the save is deleted. You couldn’t have just a manual/auto save option without the quitting part automatically tied to it otherwise people could spam the system and just re-load the save if they feel like the battle is going south (even if they haven’t died yet). The save has to be deleted so there’s nothing to re-load.

@Saishi

It felt too long to me too. The subject matter is dark, the gameplay loop grinding, and the hard reset/wind back the clock it does halfway through the story doesn't do it any favors either in that regard.

I would have made Abby's story optional upon completion of the game a-la RE2 with Leon and Claire stories. Would have trimmed down the length, appeased the fans who had no interest in playing as her, and added major replayability to the g...

Well, I mean, Naughty Dog was only known for platformers until they made Uncharted.

I get what you're saying with the whole unproven studio = keep expectations in check though.
I'm planning on buying this game myself unless the reviews are all terrible.

Years ago I produced audio mixes in 5.1 and Dolby charged a licensing fee back then for their .ac3 encoder. I mostly just work in stereo nowadays so I don’t know if they still do that with Atmos or not. I would imagine they probably do though.

Guys, the price listed in the article is in Australian dollars, not American. The MSRP in the US is $219. Still expensive, but not $359 expensive.

Consoles are about to go back to 30 fps once newer engines such as unreal 5 proliferate. The tech demo epic games showed off was running at 30 fps on PS5 but woah mama was it gorgeous.

I really don’t mind either way. 60 fps is nice but I’m also used to 30.

I don’t really understand this idea that SE takes forever to make games. Other than Vs. XIII / XV which was put on the back burner because they couldn’t get it to run properly on the PS3, they don’t really take any longer than other devs. 4-5 years usually.

@CrimsonWing69

Yeah the original concept for FF7 took place in NYC which became Parasite Eve. I don’t think Xenogears had any elements of FF7 though I could be wrong on that one.

Xenogears is quite possibly my favorite game of all time so I’d love a remake of that game. And this time, do the disc 2 content justice.
I’d love a PE remake too, though Square let the rights to the original novel IP expire so they’d need to purchase those again (and I ...

Don't the plates slide off? Couldn't I just slide them off myself, spray paint a matte black, then topcoat with polycrylic?

That's a shame. Sony is capable of making fantastic headphones. The MDR7506 Studio Monitors are unbelievable as far as sound quality goes and I've seen them everywhere from movie sets to recording studios. I was thinking about untethering the wire with this headset but I guess I'll hold off and keep using the monitors.

That's the truth. I work for a company (that will remain nameless, but you've likely heard of it) that has an online storefront and I've flat out told our IT department that the search algorithm implemented on our site is garbage. Most of the time, I have to Google the item I'm looking for and then pull it up on our website in the results. It's terrible.

You would think Nvidia or AMD would have recognized the crypto market as an area ripe for expansion and made GPUs that are purpose built for crypto mining. That way, the gaming GPUs could go to actual gamers.

The global semiconductor shortage seems to be hitting everyone too.

Animations play a direct roll in game mechanics. They’re hard to change without changing the overall feel of the game.

If the rumors about Sony taking helm and getting team silent back together are true, then I can’t wait.
If this ends up being another half-hearted attempt by Konami to keep the series alive so they can make more pachinko machines, then no thanks.
