Based on everything I have read its seems that it would take somone to actually sit through "listening tests" to tell the difference....meaning not at some electronics store where there there are other noises, you would actually have to have both lossless and "lossy audio" setup in a sterile environment, using the same source exact equipment and source to actually hear a noticeable difference and pick it out consistently.
As a "360 owner" who has constantly bashed the M$......I'm SURE YOU DO CARE, because YOU can actually hear the slightly NOTICEABLE difference between the LOSSLESS AUDIO & non lossless audio on identical setups.....and of course you will enjoy the "full experience" on your 60" 1080p HDTV you brought with the loose change you found between your couch seat cushions.
Iam very happy with my 360, but I'm a gamer so I plan on getting a PS3 later when the price drops. It's sad that so many Sonyfanboys can't give credit where credit is do. I think Sonyfanboys like the Rock add to jokes like Sonyfanboys having 10 second memory's like goldfish, 'cause another fanboy just accused me of over-using the term fanboy and then calling me one himself.
with statements like....."I've done my research and as far as value goes Sony has ALWAYS OVERDELIVERED IN MY BOOK!"......
"OVERDELIVERED", really? and I'm the one with low expectations..... WOW, theres just no rational way to talk to someone who actually thinks that, yeah PS3 will be good, but it has LESS features than original promised, so I definitely have to classify this statement under the "Sonyfanboy logic" category....and sadly you really do believe...
I see people want to create there own reality, but just cause you believe something doesn't make it true....NO, its just another MYTH.
Myth: All 1080p games will look better than 720p games........NO even Sony's exec. Phil Harrison said some games look better in 720p.
Myth: DVD9 will not be sufficient storage space for games this generation.......the fact is that there are "great next gen games" on DVD9 right now, and "great next gen games" ...
Yes Truth, the use of the term "fanboy" is un-original on my part but not overused, everybody knows what it means and since it describes you perfectly, WHY not call you what you are? BTW, didn't you use the same term in your #23 post?, (yep, you sure did) so are you calling yourself un-original? or are you just stupid for critisizing me for the same thing you did? or do you really do have a 10 second memory like most Sonyfanboys?, lol Your posts are very, very, funny, no wonder you...
I would agree that 360 fans who think that the 360 sales will even come close to PS3 and Wii console sales are being foolish at best. The reality is that #18.1 kmis87 had the right idea about the Japanese have patronized Sony and Nintendo for along time....although I disagree that by buying a 360 would be in his words "abandoning" the others. At the same time you have to admit there is bias towards M$ in the Japanese console market, Japanese gamers have very different tastes than ...
No, actually we(360 fans) are not bringing it up, its people like you(Sonyfanboys) who keep repeating it as if its a big deal to the majority of 360 owners. I think its clear that if you read the majority of the posts, you would know that MOST 360 fans don't think its important. FACT: Less than 5% of all consumers own a 1080p HDTV. -so consider of that 5% how many are actually 360 owners???? I don't know but I would say less than half....therefore logically speaking 1080p will not even be u...
Before I read this article I had heard of "lossless audio" maybe 3 or 4 times before and after reading this article about 360 HD DVD player lack of "lossless audio" without HDMI, the only thing I felt was like, OK so what? Now I'm sure there are those who really do care, but somehow I think they always planned on buying a standalone player....just a guess. As for the rest of us, were all doomed listening to 5.1 on our "useless" surround sound home theatre system...
I read IGN alot and they are pretty fair. You always get someone who's on there high horse from time to time. I just think this guy just went a little overboard with this 1080p stuff....1080p is definitely becoming an over-rated, seriously and thats nothing against Sony or M$....I have a plasma 50" Sony Wega HDTV its 1080i but I compared it to a few other 1080p TV's that were on the market 9 months ago when I brought it,(what a Birthday!) and it looked just as good or better than them,...
I have to say that I thought that was an excellent evaluation of this news article. When I was reading the article, I was basicly thinking the same thing, how nit-picky can you get. As a matter of fact, I want to re-iterate one of your statements in particular that sums up this news:
"We have now changed from...well the PS3 is better because it supports 1080p to the PS3 is better because it supports 1080p on slightly more televisions." -UrbanJabroni

Unfortunately in America today even negative press creates publicity(specifically referring to sensationalism and not quality of a product).....because sadly a large percentage of Americans are intrigued by "bad news". Heres what I mean, this game has already recieved so much hype and game of the year praise already, so those who want this game are going to buy it regardless of what any of the "Jack Thompson's" of the world say. In fact, if "ANYONE" thinks this...
Everybody is a little biased, every gamer likes different things, but I think he was trying not to be biased. I'll take his comments at face value, which is one mans opinion. Nothing more, Nothing less. At the same time, I believe one flaw he made is by not mentioning Sony's lack of online strategy and other issue's at TGS, to some this could be percieved as bias, but honestly I don't think he was doing an in-depth assessment of both companies....this was just the opinion he wanted to get o...
I mean seriously, this press conference was an Xplosion of great news. I have an "itch" to flame those Sonyfanboys who've been talking smack about 360 over the last few months, but I realize 360 fanboys do the same thing. So I won't....although I think I always try to make a valid point. This does go to show that 360 is in a very strong position, even when Sony launches in Nov.; I know they will initially sell out, but I think after about 2 mil. sold to hardcore fans that they are...
Yeah, just to clarify SC 4 currently is only being released on 360 and PS2. SC 5 is a 360 exclusive for all consoles. Damm the 360 is doing very well right now!
So let me see if I'm understanding this correctly, this company basicly has figured out how to produce high yeilds of multi-layer DVD's that can hold HD movie content for only 3 cents more than single-layer DVDs....and production will begin in "early 2007".//// Will they play on current DVD players, BD & HD DVD players? yeah, I'm confused.
As a gamer who favors the 360 this news is very good because this is now 1 more exclusive game on a long list of games that I like on the 360.....but as a gamer who also likes the PS3 and some of their exclusive games too; I really don't want to see M$ snag too many great 3rd party exclusives because I think it would be really bad for Sony/Industry. Now by no means am I saying Sony's even close to failing, not at all, but I think there should always be a healthy balance between at least 2 co...
it could be fun if used once or twice, but just wait 'til little Billy gets a hold of this thing!
Here we go again, its another day but the same BS from DJ. When will you learn that GOW is the hottest game coming to ANY console? You talk about AI as if its impossible that they purposely have the game on the easiest settings for demonstrating the chainsaw kill, tactics, etc. Bro, its just a demo, the dev wants to be able to navigate quickly through the game simply showing off different features as quickly as possible and if the games set at its highest difficulty, it wastes more valuable...
