Yeah, I agree if news of Wii outselling PS3 7:1 is news then this news is fair game, although I think when you look at the circumstances I think Sony has to be alot more dissapointed than M$. I think power of Green hit the nail on the head with his statement; Ipods and software are not a part of Japan's national identity, in fact they don't really have a established homegrown alternative/competing product....I have had the pleasure of living there for 3 years(total) over the last 10 yrs or so...

Yeah, if they are not selling the Game I'm sure there is a "logical" reason....which most likely has something to do with the publisher or availability. Its really simple M$ sold less consoles than they did in the 3rd qtr of 2006, so obviously they made less money....thats no surprise, and the fact is all companies sales fluctuate from qtr to qtr, especially heading into the holidays with the biggest profits coming over the holidays...yeah as an investor you always want to see everything go up, but you also realize that when you invest in a company then you know there will be ups and downs....and the bottom line is Bill Gates & company ma...

Seriously, I asked the same question when I first heard this news....Sony already allows you to upgrade your HDD anytime you like and you can easily get more than an 80gb HDD, so why the need to offer an 80gb model at all? Deep I do find this wierd....remember I'm all for offering the consumer more....but in this case I don't see why they even need to, they already made a good descision in the first place by allowing ANYONE who wants MORE to buy it whenever they feel like it. ???.....
