How does this differ from the PS3 or 360? Most people who play the consoles a lot relied on the online features. The last console I can think of that didn't was the PS2.
If more devs actually begin to make Linux ports, this will practically kill some of Nvidia's sales since they have not done much to help on the Linux side of things much in the past. The Drivers I use on Linux are ones that the fans themselves had to create since Nvidia refuses to release up to date open source drivers.
What are you talking about? Smartphones?
Most certainly. Sometime reading the comments on here makes me wish you had to pass a test to be allowed to use the internet.
This was a conference for tech people, if you were expecting some silly Steve Jobs style Presentation that overuses the words "Innovative" "Amazing" "Gigawatts" and such, you weren't the target audience.
ARMA 3 uses Physx for the vehicle physics.
That depends on Nvidia, since AMD already has Open Source Drivers on Linux.
There are cross platform games. The most recent being Final Fantasy XIV.
Calling ARMA the best looking game out on PC is a bit of a stretch. I've been in the series since OFP, and it looks good, but calling it the best looking is a bit too much.
Also, some of these games aren't even out, or in NA yet.
For a flight game, like War Thunder, the headtracking will be the difference between a good and excellent player.
Most games on PC support it. Metro 2033 did and it's an older game. Just who actually has a PC that can play at 4K? That one guy with 3-4 titans?
Or stick with the OS you already have and fuck upgrading when there aren't any benefits to upgrading.
ITS NOT CLOSED, It's open source. Hell, AMD's current drivers on Linux are already open source.
This is open source guys. If Nvidia wants to use adapt their cards for this new API, nothing is there to stop them. Doesn't mean they will, but they will be able to.
There isn't one. This will be Multiple different machines.
"Beginning in 2014, there will be multiple SteamOS machines to choose from, made by different manufacturers."
That moment when people disagree with facts. Love the Internet.
This was also the case with BF3...and every other Frostbite title.
Also doesn't support DX9.
In other news, BF4 Beta starts on October 1st as well.
@Cleft, I guarantee you level up WAY faster than you can make money, so it will make a negligible difference. Even if everyone gets to a certain level at a pretty quick rate, they'll still be ahead since they won't also have to raise the money for the items. Making the leveling irrelevant.
For Watch dogs, and Assassin's Creed 4, that means the whole game pretty much. Sure they both likely have Multiplayer modes, but who will honestly buy either for the MP?
