The crappy party system and network in COD4 detract from what is an otherwise fantastic title.

I think Sony really screwed the pooch with Home on this one. We know Achievements and ingame messaging are important to gamers. I think it's funny you consider the multilayer to be so refined when, it has more network problems then any game I've played online this year. It's full of lag, connection issues, host issues and has horrid mic support compared to games like RFOM. It's a rarity to play the game 3 matches in a row without having the room close. The PS3 didn't get the fix with the patch either.

The game itself is awesome. The online is fun and addictive. After a while of playing though, it all starts to wear off simply because the game is so plagued with problems. Especially on the PS3. I'm sick of the unable to connect to host crap. I'm tired of hosts ending games.
It lacks much that RFOM had and spoiled me with.

They've said there's going to be a little surprise but, all this speculation leads to people actually believing that these rumors are something more. Just be happy with the new content, the new store and GT5P. If there is something else extra, it's just icing on the cake.

but it isn't tons of hype. People aren't screaming "GAME OF THE YEAR OMGWTFROTFLBBQ", like they are with MGS4, GTA4 and GEoW 2. People are just pleasantly awaiting and excited for what they know will be a rock solid title. Insomniac is an awesome developing company and, the game seems to improve a lot on the first game as far as features are concerned. Why would anyone think otherwise? Why shouldn't people be excited to see this?

I knows Gears will be amazing. I said that and still got disagrees. I just think it's funny that someone is comparing a game he's never seen to a game non of us have seen a finished build of.
I have a feeling it is going to come down to MGS4, GTA4, KZ2, GEoW 2 and possibly LBP. LBP might not be a block buster but, its just so damn innovative.

on screen was for the tech demo. It wasn't for the game. The greenih hues you speak of is the art direction Kojima is going with. Don't get me wrong, Gears is going to be a monster. The game will rock. Don't knock MGS4 though. Every preview of the game has just said it's looks amazing.
If you want to compare the two games, at least do it when they've both been released and finished.

This year really will be bonkers for gaming. Last year was cool but, 08 looks to be shaping up as the most amazing I've ever seen. I hope a steady flow of information continues to come. This stuff just pumps me up.
