Whilst I do not disagree about the amount games like Halo, Gears, Forza and Kinect Adventure sell, you have to remember something - these are the core franchises which people buy a 360 for.
Lets look at the PS2 now:

It looks as if Nintendo do not want to show of the WiiU completly as of yet and it just felt like everyone was scared of giving away their hand of cards. As a result, no one got what they wanted and all the showings were lacking anything mildly exciting.
Nintendo: We still dont know specs, price, tablet controller costs and if one comes free with it, 3DS functionality with the WiiU if any.

1) They have changed the DMC Universe and most of its history
2) Sparda never married a human in the new DMC, he had sex with an angel.

I cannot forget uncharted. As much as I love the look of The Last of US, I prefer the adventure treasure hunter feel and theme.
The Uncharted series can freely explore all the corners of the globe and explore various myths and legends.
The Last of Us looks brilliant, but it has a different purpose all together in terms of genre - it is not an adventure game as much as it is survival horror. Nor is it there to succeed Uncharted.

I will buy the game. By no means am I saying the game is bad or unplayable. However, my loyalty is with the original Devil May Cry so I will purchase this second hand.

I think the safe bet would be to guestimate the announcement for ps4 and next xbox to be after their last big game release to ensure sales for their big title(s) dont get affected e.g after last of us, after Halo4, after Forza Horizon etc

I think Nintendo will be looking at the large casual market who bought the Wii to make the jump to the WiiU.
The Wii's success after all came from them not the hardcore gamers. MS know this hence their heavy support for the Kinect. Nintendo know this too and wont forget it either.
The hardcore games will come, but not as strong or hard as the casual games, especially once the next gen xbox and ps have launched.

Im a huge DMC fan too but i have to disagree on many points:
1) no, he doesnt act like Dante. Dante was cool, calm and funny in a cheesy way. This new Dante is like a council estate reject acting ghetto and mouthing off swearing like a chav. He isnt cool or calm or subtle like old Dante.
2) the sword morphs into other weapons... Nothing like the old Dantes sword.
3) He doesnt fight like Dante. Why? DMC was about timed button presses, lock on ...
From the sound of things, combat is more buttom mash than mastery unlike the previous DMC games. Nothing new considering it is Shity Theory developing the game. Still not fond of Dante being a punk and his mother now being an angel.
So you saw Nathan Drake, Sully, bright colours, treasures, lots of cover based shooting with enemies that can soak up bullets, large epic scripted events such as train sequences and crumbling / falling buildings, platforming and puzzle solving?
However, I think MS fans got exactly what they wanted; another Halo, Gears, FOrza and Fable.
Isn't this pretty much what MS fans buy their system for?
If they wanted more games announced, they would be favouring Sony's console as this is always where the variety of games has been.
