I agree with a lot of comments so far.
I feel that GTA IV suffered more from being too serious than being too realistic. Like people are mentioning, they left out a huge chunk of the side mission/random fun stuff that made the previous GTA games so fun and unique.
I think the realism is great, as long as they bring back tons of stuff you can do outside of the main game missions I will be happy. They don't have to be crazy excessive stuff like Saint'...
Food for thought:
I have a friend that has always been into FPS games, his most played are Counter Strike on PC and COD on consoles. Back when KZ2 first came out he was really into COD so I only managed to show him the game once or twice. He played the marksman for a few matches and enjoyed it, but never got a chance to get any real impression.

Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 each have their positives and negatives, neither are perfect, but both are amazing games. I love both and have had tons of fun playing each. I do feel that KZ3 was rushed in some aspects unfortunately, most likely due to the inclusion of move and 3D, but the patches fixed a lot of things.
I am just a little annoyed when people that think KZ3 is a complete downgrade from KZ2 act like KZ2 was perfect and didn't have it's own issues.

It's pretty cool, everyone I've talked to that got the MP-only version of KZ3 through PSN has had nothing but good things to say about it and has been playing nonstop like you. Glad you are having fun, and yea that is an amazing deal seeing as the maps alone are $10, so you are basically paying $5 for the MP mode.
One of my main gripes with KZ3 is how they split the maps up for different modes. There are some awesome maps in warzone that aren't in GW and some sick maps in GW that aren't in warzone, unfortunately it seems like they ran out of development time. Still an amazing game though.
KZ2 and 3 are both amazing games. I will admit they seemed to have ran out of time for KZ3 (probably due to the move and 3D stuff being added) but it is still badass. The patches fixed lots of stuff wimpy ass complainers were complaining about and it plays excellent. I will admit I miss some stuff in KZ2, mostly the maps, but I enjoy KZ3 a little bit more overall mainly because the controls aren't laggy. Bring on KZ4
The game is only 13 years in the future. In all honesty, what type of "future tech" are you expecting, Phazer guns and teleporting?

Once you level up to 10 you can no longer play unfortunately, but it is still an awesome free trial demo. Not to mention $15 including all the maps ($10 for all maps) is an amazing deal! I am extremely glad they did this, I hope to see it done with more games.

Just speculation, but maybe he is a big Halo fan. It sounds like he's been expecting more in terms of evolving the game/engine and possibly other things? Not sure, but it's a little unfair to assume he hates Halo, it sounds like he is just disappointed. At least it seems like this could be the case, why else would he take the time to watch new Halo 4 footage?
