It's a hack and slash/open world/rts. You sir cannot handle the metal.
I thought the campaign for ODST was a massive improvement over the original Halo 3 campaign. Sure it was short (duh, they made that clear) but for once they had soldiers actually taking off their helmets and created pretty solid and likeable personalities. The voice acting was above par and the new HUD was pretty convenient. For a proclaimed expansion, I think it was pretty good. Marketing this time around consisted of only 1 (one!!!) ad (which was pretty sweet...I love their live action ...
influenced replayability in a major way (like how you could unlock weapons and powers for later characters by using them enough, or how you found yourself choosing different party members for each playthrough so you could get the "complete the majority of the game with x teammate") Hopefully the "gain loyalty of x teammate" ones provide some kind of bonus. These...not so much. I see myself unlocking virtually every single one of them in one or two playthroughs. (They ac...
when I told them to pass on MW2 because it was gonna be a huge disappointment. But noooooo... I single handedly witnessed every single bug (outside of the javelin glitch) within a week of them getting it. The only reason why it took me more than five hours to beat the campaign was because I was playing on hardcore (and I'd get unpatient with respawning enemies and rush out only to die)
Good god, why did IW think it was a remotely good idea to put dual wielding in their game? S...
Didn't that game get major accolades at a bunch of game shows? Oh yeah...it's a PC-only game meaning in no way will it contribute to the console wars, so nobody cares!
1. in your opinion, fps's are better on the pc.
My problem with that is a lack of multiplayer accessibility (not everyone is gonna drag their computers over to one person's house so they can play counter strike together, when they could just have a 4 way free for all on a console)
new player accessibility (do you know how tough it is for someone fresh to pc fps's...or someone who hasn't played them in a couple years...to be competitive? whereas if you can navigate ...
the 90's aren't exactly this decade are they?
...and it didn't start with WoW, the Warcraft universe started back in '94. WoW became popular because of the following Blizzard already had from their previous games. Same goes for the GTA series which started back in '97. And Super Mario 64 came out in '96! All these games are basically ineligible, no matter how good they are!
Halo: CE on the other hand was the first in it's series and actually began in 2001, this decade. ...
simply because every time a new big balls mmo comes out, there's always the question of whether it's gonna be the WoW killer... whereas every time a new shooter hits the PS3 or 360, there's always the question of whether it's gonna be the Halo killer. I say that because even despite the popularity of the CoD games and Uncharted 2 and everything else recently, you never hear that a game could potentially be the MW2/UC2/KZ2/etc...-killer.
here's hoping the esrb stays the hell (accidental pun) away from it despite all the rampant (whoop!) nudity.
just look at all the trailers they've released (and all the massive names they have in their voiceovers). they did a great job of promo-ing it through dragon age (and conversely promo-ing dragon age through it). they're dropping demos and getting rave reviews. they're bioware!
However, if they even come one point short of the standard they just set, lot's of people are gonna hear about it. for example: I came into video games pretty late in life, on of the first I played was ...
...and I know that I'm going to enjoy the hell out of Mass Effect 2 (just as I did the first), BUT they need to shut up. I was totally fine with them talking about improvements, but just saying "we're the greatest ever" isn't exactly what I associate with great developers (see silicon knights...even lionhead though I think their games are good but waaaay overhyped)
Personally, I'm extremely critical of Bioware games because I hold them to such a high standard. I've be...
the mofo writing this article referred to this decade as "the noughties".
1. It's "naughties".
2. Unless you're british or a huge fan of old english, this makes no sense.
3. This actually was referenced in a recent article "5 terrible names people are trying to give this decade" by Chris Bucholz.
4. I stand behind Bucholz statement that this should be referred to as "the dorkade".
5. To quote: "This is the decad...
it's okay Petey-boy...I still enjoyed them both! It's just...I want you to be careful about talking Fable 3 up too much (that or back up your words!), and please don't make a big deal about the touching (unless you want to joke about the bad touching, then feel free to smash that one to bits!)
For this next game, I just want to be able to walk into a village and woo one or two individuals without everyone getting these massive hearts over their heads and trying to dry hump my le...
and my response is it's a load of bullsh1t. will it impact your (nonexistant) shareholdings? no! and whatever pissing contest you hold here obviously isn't going to matter in the real world. Remember how everyone on here (including me) said "activision sucks. boycott MW2!" I know I held my end of the deal, but did it matter to the rest of the world? hell no!
i could go on and on about how 3rd party is going to trounce everyone anyways, but what's the point? i could ...
dumbass. why don't you go play some games (god knows how many awesome ones just came out) rather than jizz yourself about how much more money one corporation is making over another. Winning? losing? who cares they're all making sh1ttons of cash and the major 3 will all be around for a very long time.
What are we? like 4? this is just a videogaming version of "my dad can beat your dad". let those balls drop already.
none of the companies care about their fanbase. they care about one thing and one thing only: money. you've got your head in the clouds if you actually think a corporation gives two sh1ts about you.
focking fanboy. anyways, if anybody has been delivering the AAA hits left and right and is going to continue well into 2010, it's EA. And even though they've been taking some major risks with loads of original titles, they still don't give a rat's ass about us. if they didn't do ...
I was looking forward to this, but I think I'll pass, just like I did for Borderlands (the reviews weren't to my liking) There's honestly enough good games coming out over the next 6 months to let one with a below phenomenal score pass by with out a play. (Who knows, maybe I'll rent it during the next dry spell...like I did this past summer with 7 or 8 above average games that I felt didn't warrant a purchase)
...with flabby arms.
Because although it's the first in its series, it is another Batman Game. Otherwise, I definitely think it would have gotten the nomination.
