surely has never experienced an orgasm.
It's like an orgasm for the eyes!
They weren't talking about sales numbers, they were talking about just number of different games. Honestly, who cares? Out of those 1000+ games, how many were actually genuinely good and not just a load of shovelware?
I think the number of titles will probably stay relatively the same (especially now that developers have figured out how to work with the ps3) and the number of AAA titles will increase.
Honestly, how do these experts keep their jobs making prediction...
I think over the past year or so, we as gamers have been really starved for AAA titles, at least until this fall when a few started coming out (UC2,MW2,AC2,DA) and those games sold like mutherfocking pancakes. We desperately desired some good titles so badly that a large majority of us even ended up picking up titles that we'd regularly pass by EN MASSE. Or in the case of about 5 million people, they needed to fill that FPS gap so badly, they all descended on MW2 like a hoard of zombies, DE...
I'd even say it looks really good, but there's just something...off.
I think it's that it looks very viscous when it splashes up in your face and there aren't any little tiny droplets. That and some of the water splashing against the walls is a bit too overdone.
The water spraying out of the pipes looks excellent though. I really wish he would have looked down at his feet to show how it splashed around when he walked.
Still, I don't think anyone in the ...
In all the pictures I've seen they look normal...can somebody link a pic where they're tiny?
I know this is a preview (not event that, it's just his initial impressions) but I think I've heard enough to pass on this game. My reasons:
I don't want to spend the first 25 hours doing something so linear. It's just my nature to want to go looking in nooks and crannies and talk to every single person on the planet and amass a big giant codex. I want to make my own choic...
that has played Brutal Legend, really, really enjoyed it. Why? Because the vast majority of gamers don't sit around and check gamespot or whatev for game videos. Most don't even know who Tim Schafer is! So in truth, there was a lot less hype for it than you think. With lower expectations came the sheer surprise of a fresh completely original IP. I know I'm still getting the word out to my friends, and it's gradually becoming more and more popular.
you know, if you people are going to disagree with me, the least you can do is give me a reason why I'm wrong other than "but i like jrpgs!" I'm not going to say they're bad, but let's face it, they haven't changed in years, and while subtle changes are fine for the fps genre (really, how much can you possibly change?) the eastern rpgs do need a drastic overhaul of they hope to become truly competitive/popular in the states.
Hating bioware because they're trying to see...
...based on the cinematic trailers and the concept art it really does look scary. But I just don't see how an mmorpg could seriously scare me/freak me out like Dead Space did when I'm micromanaging my stats and grinding through levels. However, I think if anyone could pull it off, it would be funcom.
they kinda deserve it as of late. But Bioware? Just stfu. They have a history of some of the best games ever, and JRPG's are virtually all extremely similar, no matter the setting, typically turn based, with a squad of 3, and a preset choice of "attack" "summon" "use item" and "flee" or whatev(I dunno, I usually make it a point to avoid JRPGs).
Come on! Comparing Dragon Age and D&D because they both have a fantasy setting? That's l...
you wanna talk about contrived plotlines? the ending of MW2 is EXACTLY THE SAME as the first one. Oh hey, let's try to pull a rockstar and piss off the media by murdering AN ENTIRE AIRPORT full of people. What? We took out 30k troops with a nuke in the first game? How about we take out the focking ISS this time! What? We introduced new characters that are pseudo interesting (look at me! my name is ghost and I wear a facemask with a skull on it! ooooo!!!) and people are gonna figure out ...
wasn't it gamespot that fired one of their reviewers for giving kane and lynch a bad review? I thought it was common knowledge that they were pretty shady. Though I'm not trying to link that to these awards...I'm just saying, they're not the best.
I really got to pour over a hundred hours into it (and I'm not even done with my second playthrough!) and in my personal opinion, it seems to me that a lot of sites have tried to come across cool and edgy by giving DS the title (it still looks really good I'm not trying to bash it in any way). But literally all I hear is "it's really hard! yay oldschool!" and not much else, which is fine if you're going for "most rewarding game of the year".
But I just feel a...
funny mine got deleted since I was just commenting on the stupidity of it all...
that and I mentioned that I put my vote in for Dragon Age. Truly was worth my money this year. I think I've gotten more out of that one game than the 4 other games I purchased combined.
if only the mods were heavy handed like this all the time, I've only been back on this site recently out of boredom.
run in FEEEEEAAAARRRR!!!!!!!!
was when one of the cultists was just sitting on the floor laughing, just cackling like a total psycho.
and then she blew her head off.
dead space was probably my favorite title of '08, and I didn't even finish it until a week ago, because every time I'd sit down and start playing it by myself, within minutes I'd be scared sh1tless and be forced to turn it off.
I eventually made it a point to only play when my roommate was sitting there in the living roo...
and honestly I was kinda disappointed with the paint job. it was not very high quality. (though this might have been a different company making a shepard figure, at least that's what I hope)
The key is, it didn't deserve the number one overhyped award because it wasn't that hyped (good or not). I never saw a single commercial for it outside of the online community, and not one of my friends had heard of it even though I'd consider them pretty big gamers (they have 3 tv's 2 360's and a wii sitting in their living room).
If you have a friend over that's beaten it, the multiplayer is definitely satisfying for a console rts. It definitely outperformed the 10 games I re...
