I'm talking about the digital stores, there are games bring turned off all the time.
It's a preferred taste. For example the majority of my purchases are physical. When the servers are turned off I still have access to my games.
When was the last you checked the currency exchange? Canada had playstation prices go up because the Canadian dollar went down in the exchange.
I agree look at how much these consoles cost in Australia and Hong Kong. Gaming in the US is cheap!

Sure let the U.S. leave everyone alone. Let the North Koreans take over South Korea; China to continue to take islands from Vietnam and the Philippines; the border wars of the Arab nations caused by the Britain and France at the end of WWI; Piracy off Africa and ASEAN. Etc...

The reason why Japan matters is the number of developers in that country. If the X1 doesn't exist over there, why should those companies bother making xbox versions of their games. The mathematics of localizing and having a team program a conversion from one console to the other comes into play.
Microsoft as a whole is known for wasting money. Look at the Nokia phone purchase and the performance of the Surface tablet.
Xbox will be replaced by Steam Box when it finally comes out. The Steam platfom/marketplace has done more for gaming than the Xbox platform. The market will be fine with Nintendo v Sony v Valve for consoles with the sidelines filled Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. There's no need to inflate the "importance" of Xbox in the gaming marketplace.
Some of comments with limited scope claims the Japanese don't like American designed products. Apple, Disney, etc are examples of companies that have no problem that American products can be very successful over there. Xbox fails in Japan is the fault of Microsoft and not the market.
PS3 Tales of Vesperia outsold the Xbox 360 version and it came late. This is why they'll never make a new one for xbox platforms.
I was hoping for a Starcraft Universe, but than again the same company hasn't even released Part 3 of Starcraft.

More Xbox 1 will sell with Halo 5 than the Halo collection month. So far from E3, GamesCom, and TGS the Xbox 1 line up for exclusives on the first half of 2015 short in comparison to Playstation.
