play all of the games I got before they closed
hopefully they remove the always-online requirement
"After several weeks of review, EA has come back with a response regarding funding and/or licensing for 'Alice: Asylum'. On the question of funding, they have ultimately decided to pass on the project based on an internal analysis of the IP, market conditions, and details of the production proposal. On the question of licensing, they replied that "Alice" is an important part of EA’s overall game catalog, and selling or licensing it isn’t something they’re prepared to do...
I do as not all of their games are on Steam, Starcraft II & Warcraft III for example.
I own the physical copy and finished it. Thought it was a fun game.
Forza Motorsport isn't 1st-party?
I wish it was the first Octopath Traveler instead, as I don't generally like tactics games like Live A Live, but good news for those interested in this game.
You're probably right, I haven't looked into it that closely because I know 4TB isn't enough for me anyway. The question is, is that because a larger than 4TB doesn't exist yet, or is 4TB all the PS5 is actually capable of handling? If it's the former, hopefully a firmware update would fix that once larger drives were available.
I'd like to upgrade mine, but I'm waiting for one with a 8TB capacity
As someone that will never have a Netflix subscription, I do hope their gaming initiative fails so they don't buy any more developers or have exclusives.
While I'm glad to see they're looking to removing the requirement, this part of the article is concerning to me:
"There are two ways developers could react to that, right?" Smith began. "They could say: 'Oh, my God, you're always online. If you get on your Steam, and it's not online, you freak out. If you get on your Xbox, and you can't get the latest patch, or see what your friends are doing, you freak out. You want to be always online!' Bu...
I was interested at first when it was shown at the State Of Play, but once I found out it's multiplayer-only then its no longer for me.
That sucks, Fringe is the first thing I remember seeing him in. Always thought he gave great performances.
yet another part of gaming where the past was better than what we get in the present/future.
I don't think a PS5 version of this game has been announced? Are you thinking of Trails Into Reverie that you pre-ordered maybe? That one has a PS5 version
I've been working on finding lists online of all the WiiU & 3DS digital-only games, DLC, DSiWare & virtual console releases and making my own lists of what to buy before the stores are gone. I'm getting there, but not much time left. I missed doing so for the Wii virtual console & WiiWare before it was shut down.
I also hate the digital-only trend but this issue isn't related to that, as it also affects physical copies.
hopefully this comes to consoles once it's finished early access.
paying for patches? fuck that
I can't speak to music as I don't collect it, and books are still quite accessible through paperbacks & hardcover releases. But movies & tv shows are starting to have a problem with accessibility now, with all these streaming-exclusives. Before everything would get a DVD or Blu-ray release, but now if content is pulled from a streamer, like happened with some HBO Max stuff recently, there's often no physical disc option or even a digital download through a service like iTu...
