Watching the gameplay on IGN over the weekend..wasn't too impressed with the combat.

I'd go with it being a placeholder. No way in hell they'd shoot themselves in the foot with that type of price tag. I do see the PS4 and Xbox One at the same price point around the $450-$500 range.
Utalkin2me - I personally wouldn't need one, but $20 is hardly expensive when you're dropping a good amount of money on a console. I use 2 USB ports on my 360 for my profile and one to charge my controllers. It wouldn't be much of an issue for me. I'd prefer to have less hanging from the front of the console since I use my 360 on a computer monitor for gaming.

More than likely PC again. It may be possible they show it off with next gen consoles, but they'd probably go with their best offering to reveal.
There's a point in development where they have to complete the actual story content and begin developing DLC content. I'd say most developers follow this. (Mass Effect 3 is exempt from this since Bioware didn't expect people to poop all over the ending.)
Hopefully a beta date will be announced.

I can live with ESPN and NFL, Kinect and TV I just can't hop on the train with. I won an Xbox with Kinect from work, the Kinect just sits there unpackaged. The TV portion I just don't care about. All I care about are games and the occasional Netflix. I understand where there heads at, but it's not what the main users want.

There was a tiny sliver of gameplay when showing COD at the Xbox announcement. They showed off the lean feature, along with the slide feature and a few snippets of gameplay with shooting.
