to be fair cod has always had the option to record rounds through the console...well except for mw2. It's required in league play in case there are disputes over hacking. If you can't provide your demo your team must forfeit that win.
BF recorder is more streamlined though.
the same goes for just about all fps games before it got big on console. Just another feature that came standard on pc fps games for many many years.

Now most of the cod lovers would love to say I'm a bf3 fanboy. Nothing could be further from the truth. I've always expressed my distrust with ea and dice. But I've also been saying nothing but good things concerning bf3 over cod.

other then cs the only other time I was wowed by fps pros was when I was into quake. those guys were the fps gladiators of their time. cod pros? they'd be destroyed in cs real quick.

Battlefield has been sticking it to CoD since day 1. Is it coincidence that the year DICE didn't put out a real battlefield is the year CoD finally enjoyed breakout success?
The blame for that goes to EA and DICE. They did it to themselves by going console only. They were clearly humbled by it and now us pc gamers get the game we've been waiting for with no worries of it being consolized.
