I'm sorry I hate console fps gaming (especially Halo) with a passion but that video was just plain bada$$.

I'd watch that movie in a heartbeat

Allan Wake on the PC was indefinately put on hold. Straight from the horses mouth. The decision to release on PC lies entirely with M$

Pretty much every game on Steam has had a 50-75% off weekend discount at one time or another though. I doubt Sony will ever do that with big titles.

Do you fanboys actually believe Sony or M$ give 2 sh*ts about you? As long as you blindly keep following and supporting corporations. The demand will always be there.

Justify it all you want. Digital Distribution was introduced as a way to distribute games and movies at a lower cost to both the company and the consumer. To pay full retail for it is a slap in the face to you guys, yet I continue to see "Please sir, may I have some more?"

I also remember that article. This is from an interview by Doug Lombardi where he said he would like Valve's DLC to be free. (This was a LONG time ago btw)

"We contacted Valve to clarify and their VP of marketing Doug Lombardi informed us that, "The platform holder owns the final call." So just as we'd suspected, whether or not we see these maps for free is indeed up to Sony and Microsoft"

"As of September 2008, Stardock's CEO, Brad Wardell, has stated that the game has sold over 500,000 units, with 100,000 of those being digital download sales, on a budget of less than $1,000,000.[5] It sold 200,000 copies in the first month after release alone"

Not sure if you've heard of Sins of A Solar Empire. But with absolutely no DRM. It speaks volumes about PC gaming. This was Sept, 2008 btw.

No take into consideration that the Digital Download (100k...

actually enough of these kinds of articles could be enough for M$ to actually want to put out or secure a good exclusive.

I will admit. The one and only game I was looking forward to next year on my pc and was a factor in getting me to go quad core. But has now had it's pc version cancelled. I really wanted to play Allan Wake

I read this in the Steam TF2 forums. Moral of story = Don't generalize pc gamers by one article. the idlers only amounted to 4.5% of the player base. You guys should know what that means right? That's about 2x less people affected than YLOD.

"A story for you guys still interested in reading:

Console gaming might go the route of streaming one day. The PC will always stand alone on a level never attainable by a console.

Arma 2 and Empire: Total War are two games that consoles do not have the ability to run (Notice I didn't say Crysis)

"but take if from someone who knows and has built one recently, a $3,600 configuration system represents the middle ground for performance gaming"

Being able to unpackage and setup an Alienware does NOT equate to building your computer. If you did build it yourself. Guess what. The local store or guy you got your parts from took you for about 2 grand. GUARANTEED.

Amazon, Newegg, Tigerdirect. NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy your parts from anywhere else.

I'm not too impressed with PSN. Steam offers way more than PSN. The better question should be 360 vs. Steam.

You'd have been hard pressed to NOT find a ps3 in the US during the last few weeks. Stores were sellin em early. My local Wal-Mart and Best Buy STILL has full end caps of ps3 slims and they still have fat ps3's.

This is what happens when gamers pay $150 for a game and cheap plastic goggles.

Surely you don't think other devs aren't watching the sales figures for Modern Warfare 2...

Once MW2 breaks Cod4's record with the jacked up price. Expect every decent looking title from then on to have a jacked up price. Don't single out SE because they are seizing the opportunity Activision gave them.

Blame no one but yourselves. IIRC SE even jumped on the DLC bandwagon wit...
