One of the core problems with starcraft as I've seen it so far is that range wins over melee, especially in big numbers.
If you mass zerglings without really good micro alot of their attack will be wasted, so you just really end up with a increase in swamp HP. With the range of the terrens they get to use all of that extra attach to melt the melee before it even gets close. Ofcource if you can ge them in close then melee wins. So it is very hard to balance low numbered melee vs r...
I can't seem to get AOE2 lan to work on windows vista, win7 or linux with wine. SC1 works like a dream however on all
I bought this, I'm half with the pirate on this. You can only have one account per game. My little bro made his bnet account first as I was out, anyway I now can't play my game.
All the people that have downloaded it can't play it online... which begs the point of why bother?
Anyway, the DRM of SC2 sucks as so I'd be tempted just to send blizzard the message of let me play my own game, because I could priate it and get the same service as i ...
Sony are the only people really capable of losing from last gen, the PS2 dominated. This gen it's not to say that the PS3 or xbox360 are doing great, they are just fairly even so this is a downer for Sony.
A little bit different, but I hate online achivements, I don't pay for gold so there is no chance of getting half of them. Atlest with psn you can get them without having to pay
Also as not much of an online gamer I have to agree that I don't like them much...
Games single vs multi-player is often almost completely different, I'd say also give them separate trophy lists.
Many games do run well under wine, and some even like neverwinter nights have done a linux port. If a game is also made for mac then it has openGL and unix base, so then porting over to linux is even easier.
The main otehr problem however is the lack of open driver support from the graphics cards makers.
For games, it's only because MS managed to push directX that it's the only platform. There was nothing wrong with openGL and still isn't and if all that money and time had been pumped into openGL we would have an even better api now tbh.
Still games are the most closed software available, and linux as it stands is to divided. If they sorted everything out like a single package system it would work alot better.
As I understand it to have a game use 3D, it has to display images two separate images, one for each eye, in the same time it normally does one.
So to achieve this they have to tune the graphics down? no ****? If future games do come with 3D, they will still have something missing to allow for the extra power to make the images overlap.
While I understand the "removal of features" is bad.
Sony don't force you to, your current machine will work exactly the same bar PSN. I don't however see any other places as easily allow you to install GNU/Linux.
I could image other companies would not only force some type of update but make dam sure that your games and other features broke until you updated. The lack of the RDX killed GNU/Linux for me anyway.
I think home isn't right yet, I don't see it being right this generation, but next gen I can see it being amazing.
at the moment DL speedsare to low, server cost are to high and it's not integrated enough into XMB.
It's not my type of thing, but I have enjoyed going on every now and again and playing some of the home games... the guy that said there is nothing to do is so wrong, alot of home games give you little trophies to collect and while I think a bit more free choice is ne...
Can't you say the same and just buy PSN cards at retail and save abit as well.
The main difference in price I imagine comes from making neat values... 7.99 goes to some round number MS points which translate closes to 6.77
PSN is good as in it gives it a close real term value, but when you can buy £20 for £16 it loses some of the point.
Also PSN suffers badly in exchange rates, it's alot easier to see when a item costs more in one currency then anot...
If nothing else I think Sega would make more money adding throphies to VC then the new DLC. It has ingame one already just make them offical Sony ones.
I'd love to give folklore another go, but games keep knocking it back my list to play. Throphies don't dictate what I play, but can change how I play, mirrors edge was alot more fun playing it without firing a bullet.
While I think DF genrally do do a good job, and quite often have praised the PS3 with it's exclusives, like uncharted.
I do sometimes feel the faceoff's are boring as sometimes they use known bad ports, and when a PS3 version does have an advantagse it often feels downplayed.
Tip 5 hardly prevents it.
half the tips are basically saying don't use your console
and the others are wrong...
Yet they miss the biggest tip, keep it clear of dust. If the vents of the fans get clogged then that going to cause some heat problems.
I got it a fair while, cheap at gamestation for my bro. It's certainly fun I also managed to snag afew card packs cheap on clearence other then that however it's one of those games that can easily ad up in price.
I also made my own copies of some cards, as long as I'm not playing online imo it's no so bad and they are hard to find in shops and in my view it would be very costly. >.<
Folklore would have been imo near perfect if they had just had different map layouts for the ...
I think these are more niche games then overlooked, they got good reviews...
The only problem with bioshock is that if you haven't played systemshock2 is will be an amazing games. The same would happen i imagen with bioshock 2 if they tried anything to simular.
Still the direct they took this to imo is intrested and I elieve that i might find it better then the first as it will be alot less systemshock2 like.
On the plus side, dead rising on my HDTV had really bad screen tearing. SDTV was fine.
To others while HDTV are fine consoles are mostly for the younger none working teens and such, as I can remember not having a TV even when I was that age I'm not expecting parents to go out and buy all their kids HDTVs.
It can't really be that hard to have settings for different TV's a lot of PS2 games even have them.
I get what your saying, but what is the point in reviews then to give you a heads up about what to spend your time/money on. Money's not a problem but I have very little time for gaming and if i start I really like finishing...
Valhalla knights is the only game this generate I can think of playing and not finishing, I ignored reviews for that as the ideas behind it sound good.
I've played many games however that didn't get very good reviews and still liked them a lot.
This is the case as it already is... I used to like PC gaming just because the BC was so much better... however recent pains of MS removing old tech means it gets harder and harder to get classics to run.
