An E3 win for Microsoft would simply be to satisfy it current consumer base while drawing in millions more for another stellar holiday.
Sony is in competition w/ Nintendo for the handheld space. Nintendo is going to show new hardware (Cafe) and games that won't see the light of day for at least another 14 to 18 months after.
This will obviously Micrsoft's last E3 to show off it's system before 720 is unveiled next year.

True Halo fans are jumping for joy just like me..to play Silent Cartographer with HD graphics all these years later is one of the greatest ideas yet.
Anyone who has played phenominal God of War collection knows that the HD overhauls are as great as the originals.

Bottomline..720 will be shown at next years E3 for a 2013 launch. It would be counter productive to announce it this year. PS3 may emulate this path as well but only if they have a horrible holiday and NGP doesnt do big numbers
The #1 fact that most people are understimating is the fact that my Xbox Live account and achievements is a HUGE factor for next gen.
I had my account since the original Xbox, but Micrsoft ratcheted up the stakes by 300% when they added achievements.
When 720 is released there is zero chance I would miss migrating all the work I put into gaming this gen. I guarantee there a millions just like me who feel the same way.

I've always said that Uncharted was the Tomb Raider killer of this generation.

This is the year that Micrsoft can reap all the rewards of Kinect and a popular system priced for the mass market.
Nintendo will only ANNOUNCE their system at E3...but it won't even have truly playable games. a launch line-up, or a release date until NEXT E3..

It was an incredibly smart move to get the Kinect tools to the indie devs..but a Kinect App store would be HUGE.
The Kinect hacks showed the potential for what could end up being dozens and dozens of fun cheap apps and games for the device.
Add that to the fact that Micrsoft's seconnd batch of games will triple the count by the end of the year and you can count the ACTUAL Kinect owners will be satisfied.

Their release dates will be determined at the show. But Wii 2 with less powerful specs and 6 to 9 month lead on the other systems won't do as much damage as people believe.

Let's face it.EVERYONE counted Microsoft out when Kinect was launched..fast forward and it's the reason that the 360 is still doing great numbers.
If Microsoft can pull off more compelling experiences for Kinect, they will be in their own lane for E3. Which is important as Sony will push NGP and Nintendo will push the Wii 2.
Smart move to capitalize on the sequel potential w/ Kinect Sports 2 & Dance Central 2.

It would be silly to pretend that Exclusives don't matter at all for ANY console generation..
Since November of last year there have been a dozen articles bashing the 360 for 2011's exclusives list vs. PS3.
And now as we are less than a month from E3 and the fact is the system continues to sell and without any exclusives 360 gamers played great games this year and the year is not over

Love the new ingenuity added to the puzzles. About 75% complete through the single player and 25% through co-op. It's hard to surpass the suprise factor and fresh take of the original.
I'm not trying to hate but let's be real..tracking game placement on Amazon.com is prety a meaningless way to garner sales results. Even the infamous VGchartz come out more accurate than this.

Netflix doesnt work for mine..period. Nor does Hulu plus.
I honestly am not stressed about it..I'm still using my PS3 to finish K3 and Mortal Kombat and Blu-rays. But for Netflix andf Hulu I'm using Xbox Live.
It's great to own all 3 systems when networks go down. But I'll definately take the freebies when PSN comes back.
