I never liked Halo.
Now I'm interested in Halo 3.
Mission accomplished Microsoft.
This is the difference between a good game and an EA game. A good game will be developed for however long it takes, a bad one (EA) will be shipped on a release date set by the Marketing department - regardless of how finished the game is.
Rumor has it that one of the secret achievements is being able to read the text from 15ft away. Now THAT would be an achievement.
It's awful UI design anyway you slice it. The text is unreadable in HD as well.
a) This is being displayed on a television. 10pt font is ridiculous. It's not like a computer monitor where you're sitting 1-2 ft away from the screen. Most people are 8-10ft from their tv.
b) Even at 1080i, the font flickers like crazy because of the interlacing.
What is Capcom thinking?
Hmmm, I was really impressed by the single player demo. The online demo is pretty weak. It looks like singleplayer will be this game's strongpoint.
How is this game even possible on the PS3? There are a ton of loading screens on the 360. With Blu Ray's read speed of x2, that's 85% slower than the 360. Correct?
Apparently the Japanese don't have a word for OPTIMIZATION. If Oblivion can fit on one disc, Blue Dragon shouldn't be a problem.
Analysts are being a little short sighted. Most predict Sony to win because of Blu Ray and a *technically* superior graphics processor (which didn't seem to help the original Xbox defeat the PS2).
Blu Ray isn't a factor unless it succeeds in the mainstream. Only then would the average Joe be willing to spend extra $ on the format. Until then, it's just another Sony format. It's like saying the PSP will sell like hot cakes because of the UMD format, who cares?

Gears is the first game in a long time that I want to play over again after finishing it.
It definately reminds me of Contra in that sense. No matter how many times you beat it, its still just as much fun as it was the first time.
CliffyB really knows how to incorporate old school charm into next gen gameplay: two player co-op, reloading mini game, immediatly jump into the action (instead of holding your hand for 2 levels of tutorials), etc.
Actually, Bioshock, GOW and Splinter Cell are 360 exclusives - they're not first party titles.
GOW may be an exception since MS helped produce the game, although Epic is an independent game studio.
Viva Pinata, Too Human, Mass Effect, Forza 2, Crackdown, and Fable 2 - those are first party titles from MS.
Im not sure what first party title Sony is so proud of. Crash Bandicoot? Jax and Dexter? Ratchet and Clank? The Playstation was built on Final F...
I'd like to see 4-on-4-on-4. Three teams of 4 battle it out against each other online.
+ $30 phone.
+ $30 activation fee.
+ $30/month X 24 months = $720
+ $99 Xbox360 Core
= $879 total
I've experienced the connectivity issue. I don't know if it's because I'm using the wireless adapter or not.
Whenever I try to join a quick match, I get an error message "Connection to the host has been lost."
Connecting from a "Quick Search" is 50/50 for me.
Playing a game online has been flawless so far, it's the initial connection issue that's been the problem.
It's in the best interest for everybody that the PS3 and 360 compete neck and neck.
MS realized they couldn't keep releasing PC ports on a console, they needed a diverse library to compete with the Playstation. They got it right this time with the 360, thanks to competing with Sony.
I think this statement PERFECTLY sums up the level of innovation coming out of EA.
It speaks volumes that an executive from EA isn't able to recognize good gameplay. Now we know why EA routinely produces garbage games...because they have business executives who don't value good gameplay.
How bad is EA? If I see their name associated with a game, I immediately lose interest because I know it will be an incomplete, buggy mess. I'm not even exagerating.
Bethesda got it right. Oblivion is a MASSIVE game. They've used microtransactions to keep the game fresh. Perfect.
EA is just plain awful. Their name is synonymous with garbage. Their motto is - "Don't worry about making it perfect, we'll put it in the sequel next year!" The marketing department is the driving force behind EA, all sizzle and no substance.
I believe it takes a few months to translate the game and record English voiceovers.
It will probably be released late-spring here in the US. That's just my hunch.
Weren't Ninety Nine Nights and Enchanted Arms launch titles in Japan? They were released 8 months later here in the US.
Totally false. Considering the "20gb" HD only allows 13GB of storage, Microsoft would have to stream the video from their servers. HD video requires too much bandwidth.
This is years away from being practical.
So this is why EA only includes 8 page instruction booklets (actually they're only 2 thin pieces of paper folded in half).
Keep in mind that a big portion of sales from launch consoles are by people looking to make a quick buck and resell the console at a higher price.
It will be interesting to see results next year. Once plenty of PS3s are in stock, will the average gamer be willing to spend $500 on a PS3? I think the price point is for die hards only.
Microsoft may have fallen into Sony's trap in regards to pricing. Sony knew there was no way they'd be able to manufacture enough co...
