I'll chime in on my horrible experiences with Best Buy...
- I've tried buying a TV from them TWICE. Once, they had it in stock but couldn't find it in the back...they told me to drive 30 miles to another Best Buy. The other time, the guy just disappeared and never came back when I asked to buy the TV. You really have to beg them to sell you a TV.
- Girlfriend takes her computer to Geek Squad to simply install a new HD and load Windows XP. Easy job for anybody who...
"Exclusive" review? Yeah, I'm sure Yahoo is going to be real critical of a game they're given exclusive access to. As if the review would be anything less than glowing.
Every year EA's marketing team figures out new ways to rephrase standard features. What is it this year - branching animations?
You have to select "Simulation" for the Damage Physics to be realistic. This isn't the default setting because it takes away from the pick-up-and-play aspect to the game. The default setting is mostly cosmetic, but your car will degrade if you keep abusing it during the race.
Most of these are way too current to go on the list of "all-time" gaming scandals.
Night Trap was such a funny game. I bought it when I was 12 years old and didn't think there was anything violent about it (unless you count bad acting as a violent act). It's hard to believe it caused such a stir in Washington and is responsible for game ratings today. There was one scene where a guy in a ski mask had some goofy claw device that looked like it came from Toys R Us - the...
"Players can't create team/player names (the NFL would lay the smack down)."
Total BS. It's just a feature (a MAJOR one) that wasn't included.
No franchise mode? Wow. This is going to be a tough sell. I'm sick of Madden, but this game doesn't sound deep enough.
If customers are paying for an online service and developers don't have to front the cost for online gaming, the online experience is likely to be more complete (unless of course, it's a game from EA).
Weak. The graphics look worse than Oblivion and they've had an extra year.
So if the expansion sells for $30 on Xbox Live and the retail version is going to include all the previous expansions, Im guessing the retail version will be higher than $30. Probably somewhere around $40 or $50. It might be worth it. Sadly, I played 200 hours worth of Oblivion before growing tired of it. Maybe the expansion packs will breathe some new life into the game...
It might be worth $30, but I'm not willing to spend that much on a DOWNLOAD. Does MS allow you to download the content again if your HD crashes?
For $30, I want a hard copy with packaging and the works.
Yes. They desperately need to if they want to keep the lead over Nintendo. The Wii is quickly catching up in sales because it's new, cheaper and something totally different.
Microsoft was so confident in themselves after Sony announced their price points.
Nintendo is the dark horse here, and they may actually come out on top if Microsoft continues to think of the Wii as some cute novelty device for kids.
The 360 has converted alot of former PS2 owners (I'm one of them). As such, there is a high demand to see DMC4 to come to the 360.
It would be nice to see it released on the 360. I'm sure it would help strengthen the 360 in Japan. It's a bit of a button masher, but still a pretty fun game.
They need to LOWER the price. After 12+ months you've already sold to all the early adopters and hardcore gamers - who don't mind paying extra to have the latest and greatest.
The casual gamer who *maybe* plays a couple hours a month and is perfectly content with their old PS2 or Xbox, isn't looking to drop $400+ on a new video game system.
Microsoft has a false sense of security due to the outrageous price of the PS3. They alluded to it themselves when they said...
All I know is that Enchanted Arms was one of the WORST games I've played in YEARS. Just brutal.
I never owned an original Xbox.
I wonder how they track that figure. If they base it on the amount of new Xbox Live memberships, or if they're just pulling that figure out of their @ss.
What many people seem to be forgetting is that this "game" sucks! It's not even a game at this point, more like a showcase of high res graphics.
Far Cry was a cookie cutter FPS with pretty water effects. EA is synonymous with cutting corners and nickel & diming their customers.
HOW COULD THIS POSSIBLY BE A GOOD GAME?!?!
I'm a 360 owner who won't be playing this title...
This game is awesome. Capcom delivered!
I don't know how anybody could buy a PS3 over a 360 when games like Lost Planet, Gears of War, Oblivion, Rainbow Six: Vegas & Dead Rising are already on the 360...and the PS3 costs more!! Crazy.
These aren't "features" - they're hardware upgrades. It's normal during the life cycle of a console.
This is the price you pay for being an early adopter. You have two choices:
1) Buy the Xbox360 shortly after it's launch date and enjoy the experience.
2) Wait a couple years until Microsoft upgrades hardware or lowers the price of the 360.
And guess what? The people who buy 360v2 will be complaining several years later when...
I think this is a wasted effort. Unless Bethesda makes it a turn-based RPG, the japanese won't consider it.
There is a distinct difference between PC gaming and consoles.
Consoles games are meant to be picked up and played immediately. No configurations, no installations, easy.
Consoles tend to have at least a 5 year lifespan and the games only get better down the road. Can you imagine buying a PC and expecting to be able to play high end games on it 4 years from now?
I was looking forward to another massive RPG to follow-up Oblivion. After seeing this video, I'm glad I didn't blow $60 to watch a bunch of canned dialog. Where is the gameplay? Graphics are killer, but I need more than that...
