Buddy this game was released in US September 26, to Europe it comes October 27. For the PS3 it comes November 17, so you can hardly call it extra time. Let's also not forget that PS3 is harder to develope for and the devs just got the final dev kits. The PS3 version of NBA 2k8 will blow the 360 version out of the water.

Almoust the price of the future proof 60GB PS3. Xbox 360 sadly still lacks Wi-Fi, HDMI and offers only a 20GB HDD.
If you don’t care about Wi-Fi and can live with a smaller HDD, you can buy the 20GB PS3, which offers exactly the same what Xbox360 with HD movie playback offers, but for almoust $100 less and unlike 360 it’s future proof.

People won't buy Vista cause of the name recognition, but only because it has dx10. OSX or Linux/Unix are better, but if you are a gamer, you have no other choice, you have to use MS products. Same goes for the business. MS Office is most popular, but unlike in the gaming area you have alternatives and many offices ain't using XP. That's why they release dx10 only for Vista, they know that the biggest part of XP users are PC gamers.
