If they really want to make a 3D Castlevania that lives up to SOTN, they should start playing The Witcher and go from there.

Their stance on what gaming should be is a problem. Indie games inspire much bigger titles as well. Every studio pretty much starts out small, so to disrespect smaller developer like this is an insult to every games developer.
It won't max anything, especially with it being multiplatform, but good to know they're actually trying to make it look good.

Resident Evil 2 and 4 were better than 1 and 3. Silent Hill 2 was better than 1, and I actually loved the 3rd. Fatal Frame 2 was better than 1.
The problem is that these days, Capcom and the likes are outsourcing their franchises to new teams and different developers that care more about action than actual survival horror.

It probably is going to release in beta considering I don't understand how they'd complete the other 65% by PS4's launch. Or maybe they will. That hasn't been confirmed.

Actually that's always going to be the case for multiplatform games. One can't look too much better than the other, even if they want to. It's all compromise.
