I'm rooting for it, but traditional RTS is pretty reliant on that mouse and keyboard and all the big companies want to be able to get console money too. The rise of the middle tier AA developer though is going to produce more high-quality niche games though, so hopefully, it works out.

This Netflix-style of introducing new games and removing old ones is probably going to leave me with the same sort of backlog where I never know if a game is still available. I'm gonna have to remember to check at the end of each month and rush to play something I've been neglecting.

I bought a poster of that Mega Man box art because it's so bad it's looped back around to being incredible.

The fact that they're all eventually coming to Steam (they've already started with Hades) and PC gamers are already used to waiting on games, I suppose it makes it less of an issue.

The goal is to give people a reason to keep installing and opening the EGS. Every game they get people to add to their library is another step toward people becoming more comfortable with the platform. It's not a bad plan honestly.

I'm not really concerned with the spectrum of gore within Diablo 4, I'm concerned with the spectrum of gameplay. They need to make a game that has more substance and variance. ARPGs are stagnant with their reliance on just replaying a 10 hour loop or procedural dungeons with a handful of repetitive core builds. I want an ARPG where progress takes some effort. Then add in a story that is more than four cutscenes and you got yourself something interesting.

Plenty o...

Without Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance this list is just 10 bosses fighting for second place. That whole boss fight is a journey in insanity. By the time I got to the end I was felt like I had just dropped acid and ran a marathon.

Wow, the definition of "game" has certainly lost its value.

You're confusing "Most Popular" with "Greatest". The problem with IGN and just about any review site under the sun is that they have a rotating staff and people and freelancers doing reviews to cover the numerous games out there. There's not really any other way to do it. However, it means there's no consistency in their scoring methods. Two different people could play the same game and give it completely different scores - but they're both considered &...

I have hundreds of times more games available to me today than I did as a kid, but there was something really great about going to rent an NES or Sega Genesis game. The last game I rented was a PS2 game... I think it was Smuggler's Run?

I think if it was a direct remake of FF7 like everyone wanted, it might fall short of everyone's nostalgia-driven love for it. However, because they're doing a new direction, I think expectations for it have changed a bit. I know they have for me. Completely different gameplay with the same story doesn't give me the same expectations I would have had. Similar to the scenario with Resident Evil 2's remake. Playing it was an entirely new experience.

It's actually hilarious you mention that since all but one of the ten games mentioned here was released on PC on the same date or BEFORE any console release... lol

I think I'm most curious about Pikmin 4, assuming it becomes a real thing. I'd also be more interested in a remastered Metroid Prime trilogy before Metroid Prime 4 - which is probably not coming any time soon.

It's a bit disappointing more of these that are also PC games aren't also on the PC version, but I guess being only $5 they have to make some cuts.

Well, I'd like to imagine my short story was one of those 8 at least. But regardless, congratulations to the winners!

I never saw the value in it. When your primary focus is narrative, putting literal months of space in that process made it hard to appreciate as a whole. Having experienced a telltale game piecemeal and after the full game released, I'll always prefer the full game.

I've found that a lot of people who are really in to Indie games tend to isolate them from AAA games. For me, the standards are different between the two so it's easier to justify $10-$20 for something unique than a year or two old predictable AAA title. I've had some of my most memorable and enjoyable gaming experience with Indie and small studio games.

Somehow this looks super familiar to me but at the same time, I have no clue at all what it is.

Crush the toes of your enemies, see them rolling before you, and hear the lamentations of their servos.

Every time I see something like this on something I have no clue about I'm just like "oh so I didn't play this one."
