I remember they said Cornelius Boots was doing cultural appropriation at E3 2018...while actually being a master with teaching license for the shakuhachi (wooden flute he used). This guy is very well respected in his field in Japan lol. People ranting about western studio working on a Japanese game...ugh... they are masters in yapping without common sense.
Its okay, it's what 16baccy and many other xbox fans on here want. Pay more for less.
Leave 16baccccy alone…, oh wait, that’s 16baccy, someone that needs multiple upvote accounts to validate his belief in Microsoft overlords.
I think it’s a societal problem when people identify their character as being a fanboy of a corporation. A corporation that keeps increasing prices, killing studios left and right, multiple times a year.
It’s okay to like what a company publishes but they are not your friend, it’s okay to criticise when they mess up. ...
@kornholic,
No need to listen to 16baccy. He just did a random google search but probably has never lived in Finland.
Also he messed up by replying to someone else as 16baccccy, his personal upvote account.
You sometimes have to wonder how far someone like 16baccy would go to accept anything from their corporate overlord.
Im sure the next one will be Meiji period, aka The Last Samurai. Hopefully we will also see a Rurouni Kenshin trilogy in this style and production quality. I would love to see that.
I play games to have fun. That’s what I did when I was 10, that’s what I’ll do with this game as a 30 year old. A true platformer like Astro Bot. Probably will be my favourite game of the year. This year played plenty of Helldivers 2, ff7 rebirth, the last of us 2 and Mortal Kombat 1 but Astro Bot. That’s gaming at its purest
72k concurrent. That is a global number. People who bought the game are not playing at the same time because of timezones, working schedules, holidays, events... There is no good rule of thumb but you can extrapolate based on other games that also released sales data. Then it is clear that the PC release alone accounts for at least 500K copies sold on steam, maybe closer to 700-800K. Probably will sell over a million this extended weekend.
According to steamspy and other da...
You should read about opportunity cost on investopedia. Whoever has a stake in companies are more and more making decisions like that: Opportunity cost represents the potential benefits that a business, an investor, or an individual consumer misses out on when choosing one alternative over another.
They believe that they will indeed lose the potential of more revenue if not adding more micro transactions. Even if the experience is bad. If a 100K people are willing to pay fo...
At this point they should have just reskinned Black Flag looking more like Pirates of the Caribbean, have modern graphics options, tone down some AC gameplay mechanics while adding new pirate mechanics. Could have had a dev cycle of 3 years and we would be playing the sequel by now.
It is already at 71% and seems to be slowly climbing. Also moistcritikal seems to be enjoying quite a lot as are many other people. Not completely but many matchmaking issues have been ironed out. Also more people online now than yesterday's launch peak. And a big record for Sony on PC. Seems to be doing quite well.
Your math has problems.
12x20 = 240 million revenue
So the server upkeep shouldn't be a problem with 6 million dollars a year.
It is just that out of the 240 million, in some countries VAT is included in the sale price so they have to pay that. So that's 200 million left. And out of that 30% goes to Steam. So 130 million left. They also have development (people), licensing, utilities etc. costs. So yeah, getting server costs under control will be...
That’s profit. Not revenue. So income you keep after deducting costs.
And they are also very conservative in projections. Spider man sold 25 million copies. No reason why this shouldn’t do the same within tbe next few years
Well you can watch the DF analysis and 500MB/S SSD is slower in all rift sections. Feels even choppy during transitions. 3500MB/s and higher feels the same on PC. PS5 still a tad faster. HDD could work on the lowest asset settings and even then transitions would be choppy. So yes. At the time only possible on PS5. Now with the right tools also on pc but experience during certain sections will be slower. The steam deck 256GB and 512GB have fast Nvme drives so don’t expect issues there.
Why would Sony change a working strategy? Horizon zero dawn and God of War are in the top 10 selling games when you consider all console platforms for 2022 (NPD, GSK). GT7 did like 5 to 6m already.
Sounds like that’s where the money is. Even in 2023 they are releasing an exclusive expansion on horizon and spider man 2 which will probably sell even more than god of war.
God of war seems to do a billion dollars alone (revenue). With a cost of 100m on produ...
When I had Xbox Game Pass PC I only played Age of Empires. Had 4 months free with AMD CPU and about 4 to 5 months I paid. I tried Gears 5 and Forza but couldn't get into it and didn't have the time. In the end I just bought Age of Empires and ended my subscription. Game pass costed me more.
I have PS Plus Extra. Same thing. Only played Returnal and Guardians of the Galaxy in 6 months time while I got Horizon, GT7 and Ragnarok. I just don't play enough so subscri...
Horizon, GT7 and God of War this year and it’s a drought lol
But Sony and fromsoft track record can’t be compared to Bethesda or Microsoft.
Finished Ratchet and Clank PS5 and Returnal PS5 both on my PS4... Needed to use some black magic shit to get it to work though.
Joel had it coming. If there was one thing the last of us showed was that there are no happy endings and everyone will make questionable moral choices. There is no hero.
To those people that vouched to eat their shoe if Halo ever releases on PlayStation… what kind of seasoning are you gonna use?
