I think the worse that it comes down to is supporting emulation of the disc you already own, and MS has always supported disc emulation if available, XB on 360, 360 on XB1, that's about as free(legally) as you can get. But they will still have digital sales to supplement the loss for people already owning the disc, the discs are out of production, decaying, inconvenient.
I want to know wtf Hideo Kojima did so I can hate Konami even more.. They're doing way more harm for their name than he has done improving it.
While I do believe that PS2 disc emulation should be supported, I doubt it will happen for PS4 if the PS3 doesn't have it.. they need some way to make money, right? -.- and there are so many used discs floating around, borrowed etc. there's just not much money in supporting disc emulation if they're not in production anymore.
Like POPS, I don't think this emulation is game specific, it's adjusted, changed, improved, and some games work better on certain versions, and yeah included on the game you download, but there is not many versions of the emulation software and developers usually have minor involvement in improving emulation for their own game.
Charging full price to everybody is BS though, so if this is truly the case, owners(of the PS Store digital classic) should get a significant discount.
Why the eff are people disagreeing with you? It's a crappy thing to charge again for the same game if it's the same exact same software/data/object code, remasters take work, but it's the same damn software if only emulation is different. Good way to make more money -.-

Bandwidth =/= latency. Cheap internet/low bandwidth are just a soft cap now adays, meaning latency is usually unaffected, and online games are udp, and shouldn't have heavy traffic.
