There's been homebrew since the first year of Vita, and they consistently disable it with every Firmware update.. this is after sales had died.
They won't see it as an opportunity, although, PS Vita sales are pathetic compared to PSP(even without CFW/Homebrew).

Faster RAM is not an architectural change.. it will not cause any problems, like I said, not any more than more CU's or a higher clocked CPU.
