So you expect them to show you exactly how much turnover they have plus how much profit they made then they'd then have to show you & all their competitors how much they paid for each & every 3rd party for every single game on Gamepass.
The 3rd party publishers might not even want that being disclosed.
Minecraft has generated approximately $3 billion over its lifetime in game sales alone
Hofstaserman, well if that's the case my point is still valid. The mother body as you put it needs to make the money back not Xbox.
In the red for the next 20 years?
That's not how it works. They now own Activision, Blizzard etc. They haven't lost money by buying them. It's an asset that is still worth Billions.
Good Post
A Free pass for me as its Sony & we are on N4G
Microsoft had more people sign up for Gamepass on the month of Starfields release than any other time in Gamepasses history.
Microsoft achieved exactly what it wanted. Plus this will keep on happening with future big releases.
I didn't see any breakdown of where Starfield sold.
"And pointing out that game pass is on PC only reinforces that."
I really don't understand your argument here..
You know you can get Gamepass on PC right?
They'll most likely have a disc version aswell or maybe there's an expansion port on the bottom of the new round Xbox Series X that you can add a round disc expansion to.
It's to early to get rid of physical media in my opinion like a lot seem to think on N4G but it depends on what Microsofts data is, it could be there's only 15% of owners of Series X actually using physical media.
Almost as much money as Microsoft is making...
I blame Phil Spencer for this...
Yea thats great numbers no matter how you look at it.
Definitely think this game will go on & on for years with all the updates & extra content that's sure to come.
I think it looks great. The new controller sounds good too.
Purple have you actually tried Gamepass? There's games on there I would never buy at retail but having tried them out some of them are excellent. It's a great service for me & 30 million+ others. If you don't think it's worth it for you keep buying your games at retail.
How do you know that?
When this is brought up its always a huge blockbuster game that's given as an example. There's tons of retail games from the past that never made much money. Plus you really don't know how much Microsoft is paying the developers for the games they put on Gamepass.
For some developers of an unknown new IP game it's a risk for them at retail but its guaranteed money if they put it on Gamepass.
Anyways, congratulations to Microsoft...
Wow, if that's only Xbox console numbers that's amazing. I read on Windows Central that over 70% are Ultimate subscribers to.
That's a nice bit of cash every month.

Same here retired no credit cards ever no loans had 25 year morgage paid off in 8 years. Save to buy if you possibly can & wait.
Jin. You know full well if Microsoft showed you they were making a tidy profit you wouldnt believe it & youd say its suspicious & you'd want to see other figures.
They'd have more chance convincing a Flat Earther that the Earth is a Globe.
