Gamepass can be profitable..
There are millions of gamers on Sony & Microsofts side that don't make any money for both companies.
I have an Xbox One X, it came with a game, a few months after owning it I went to Game & bout 3 used games for £40. A month after that I bought 2 used games off ebay for £30. About 3 months later I bought another few used games from Game for about £60.

Is Microsoft trying to win the next generation, of course not, they are hoping to do a lot better than last gen and will be fine.

I'm not sure I get all this, there were games on the Neo Geo that had gimped ports to the Snes & Mega drive.
You can even get GTA on the 1979 Intellivision.
As long as the Software House has a plan when making a new game there shouldn't be a problem..
I've said it before but I'd really wish Microsoft could buy Sega. They have a great back catalogue but they could do well releasing a different looking Xbox in Japan under Sega branding, I'm sure this would really help..
I Sarai, I had an Xbox One before Gamepass came about. I bought it second hand. In 12 months I bought 4 games all used. How much money did Microsoft & the studios get out of me?
Now I have gamepass I play gears 5, forza 4 & a ton of others, id never had gone out & bought those games full price I would have waited & maybe paid £10 for them.
Right now I'm paying around £14 a month for gamepass ultimate & will continue to do so.

Microsoft has to be the most powerful this time around from day one, it will certainly help them going forward. Microsoft I'm sure isn't expecting to win this next generation, they are just hoping to do a lot better than last time & be in a much better position going into the generation after that.
Microsofts Xcloud & Gamepass will certainly make a difference plus the new studios will make a massive difference if some of the games are big hits.

I can't really fault Gamepass, I'm playing more games than I've ever played before plus I'm playing games I never would have looked twice at.
Worth every penny in my book & it'll keep me on Xbox.
I know it's early days yet but I honestly think Google is going to have an expensive job to put this launch fiasco right. The damage is huge. Microsoft made some big launch mistakes with the Xbox One but I don't think it was anywhere near the Car Crash Stadia has had... I can't see what Google can do.
Google Stadia is already dead you'll just have to wait for the lag to catch up for everyone to see...
Your quite right Rob-gp but the big difference is this will be pushed from the beginning and heavily advertised, plus X cloud will be in full swing by the time Scarlet comes out..
Expect to see a new controller for Xbox Scarlet. It will be similar to what we have now but will be able to attach your phone to it without any extras... Games will make use of the added screen, maps etc. You will also be able to turn your Xbox Scarlet off & continue on the phone screen through X cloud Streaming..
Obviously if you don't buy Scarlet you can just buy a controller & sign up to X cloud/Gamepass if you don't mind streaming. This could really bump up Micros...
I've giving this a quick go and was surprised how good it was, Gears played awesome with only a tiny bit of lag in a few places. Way way better than I expected.

You really don't understand it at all. Gamepass is £7.99+ a month. In the past I've never bought a game new, if its something I really want I will buy it a couple of months later pre owned for £15 to £20. I probably use to spend a maximum of £100 in a year on games. Now I pay £79 a year on gamepass but since having it since January this year I've spent over £100 on games already..

If all the 3 million who have played Gears 5 on gamepass for just £2 that's 3 million £2s.
Obviously the whole 3 million didn't pay just £2 there's a perhaps 2 million paying £7.99 a month or more..
Some of the ppl who paid just £2 might find a few other great games on gamepass & pay £7.99 for a few more months.

I find that I'm holding off buying older games in Game etc in case the game comes onto gamepass the following month. It's stopped me buying as there's so much on gamepass.

In the 80s & 90s there were Arcade machines like Space Harrier, After Burner, Out Run, all dedicated Machines. These games eventually came out on the consoles & computers of the time. Amiga, Atari St, Snes, Mega drive plus they even came out on the 8 bit C64, Zx Spectrum, Master System etc etc.
They were all converted some better than others, some versions had whole parts of the games missing.
