I played only a bit of the first game a long time ago when it was released on Xbox and PC.
Is it worth going back to play for the story and gameplay? I finished Alan Wake and I thought its story was pretty good.
Well if by modern you mean SA1 and SA2 then count me in. But all Sonic games that came after (with possible exception of Sonic Colours) are bad, no, really bad.

Desmond didn't stab Lucy by his own will. He was controlled by Juno. We have no idea why she considered Lucy a threat. A popular theory stems back to Subject 16's message in Brotherhood mentioning something abou "Eve" and Desmond's "son." There were definitely some sort of chemistry going on between Desmond and Lucy during Brotherhood and perhaps Juno wanted to prevent this so Desmond would mate with this "Eve" ?

I think Monster Hunter 4 is a bigger bombshell partly because it was a huge system seller for the PSP and because MH4 isn't a remake but a new entry unlike all the Vita launch titles like MGS & ZOE HD collections and FFX HD.
Monster Hunter is up there with the most popular franchises in Japan like Dragon Quest. Although, if S-E had announced like FF6 or FF7 remake for Vita or a new Final Fantasy title for Vita that would have been a bombshell too.

That's the thing. FFX HD isn't a HD remake but a HD port. It's the same FFX but upscaled into HD res.
HD remake of FF7 would be full on project that would take many years to develop.
I've already finished FFX and finished it again recently so I'm not so bothered by this news. Not to mention, my second playthrough was on PCSX2 emulator which has already improved the graphics quite a lot.
Perhaps the author of this article is forgetting that the stories in these games are fiction?
