Indeed, a tard of an article.
maddfoxx, that is untrue. He is big fan of the MGS series. He never said he won't be returning. He did a poll to see how people would react if he didn't return.
Basically, he probably thought the usual timeframe that casting takes place in the development cycle of the game had already come, yet he was never contacted. So he had already suspected he may have been dropped but didn't want to start any issue about it.
I think what this smells like is that Kojima never liked Hayter's voice for a while now. Or perhaps since the beginning.
The Konami localization team is responsible for casting so Kojima probably just let it go on for a while until he thought he could find the ripe opportunity to change the actor.
I honestly think that with enough pressure, they will bring back Hayter.
Guys, Richard Doyle voiced Big Boss because he is in bloody late 80s.
Solid Snake is a clone of Big Boss, so naturally it makes sense if they happened to have the same voice.
Big Boss has been voiced by Hayter in MGS3, PO and PW.
@matgrocott
If you've watched a lot of anime like I have where I've heard Akio Otsuka do a number of different impressions, his voice is easily one that you can make out. It's because his voice is unique. You can instantly tell it's him.
Also, in Ground Zeroes trailer, he didn't change his voice, it was the usual Japanese Snake voice he does.
Yes, actual game design - not localization. Localization happens off-shore outside of Japan. Sure Kojima may set some guidelines so stuff doesn't get lost in translation, however it's the Konami localization team that bring us the quality voice acting.
This article is so ridiculous. Kojima has little to no involvement in the localization of Metal Gear Solid. To say Kojima never asked him makes no sense since Kojima has never asked him to do past MGS games anyway.
And Hayter said the first time he met Kojima face to face was after the launch of MGS4.
Kept us waiting, huh?
There's an AD in the game ;)
he deserves a bubble for the humour
If you played on PC and installed the official high-res texture pack and unofficial high-res texture mods, it looks a lot better albeit not spectacular.
I wonder if Kojima realized 'TPP' was in the filename or is he simply trolling us again?
Obviously Joakim was a real person. He was just wearing bandages as an obvious reference to the guy from the phantom pain.
I have read the two comic series featuring Alistair, Varric and Isabella.
They aren't to do with Flemeth. It's about Alistair trying to find his father.
The issue with Flemeth in DA2 wasn't her literal appearance but her story appearance. She just jumps in twice and just as quickly jumps out. I wanted to know more about her 'plan' but it seems Bioware wants to keep the lid on it till DA3. It seemed that whole amulet quest was just a way to avoid a plothole in DA3 regarding Flemeth's appearance there just in case you killed her in DAO.
I had no idea she could shapeshift into a High Dragon though. Back in Origin...
yeah Origins was so good. The whole world atmosphere, the main storyline, the branching secondary storylines.
The only thing that stood out in DA2 was Kirkwall feeling like a real city, and DA2's characters being varied and colourful.
Has the the PS4 been confirmed that games will only be using standard dual layer Blu-ray?
I imagine it will at least use triple layer.
wait what? Is this real?
This is exactly why I feel Konami was very rude it simply not contacting Hayter at all.
But I foresee a change in their decision in the future. Remember Max Payne 3, MGR Revengeance and others where the original VA was planned to be dropped.
