They're lying.

They're using "piracy" facade since their true objectives is preowned buyers.

In reality, when a product is pirated, nobody loses money, BUT YES, the developer loses POTENTIAL sales.

There's a difference between losing money and losing potential sales. In a competition, a company can lose potential sales due to another competing company.

And I've never believed in this "license" bullcrap. If you buy a product, you've bought it and it belongs to you. You can do whatever you want with it. Including, sharing it on the internet.

Rowsdower, maybe you've just got to face reality.

There will always be filesharing.
There will always be hackers.
There will always be pirates.

Why is Valve successful? Because their games are amazing and not over-priced. And they have good community support.

To be honest, some people think piracy is theft, others think it's not. It's such an ambigious and intangible concept that it really just comes down to your personal opinion.

You guys!!

Don't forget, the DRM is mainly targeted at used-copy buyers.
I doubt Ubisoft thought their plan would work permanently against hackers.

Pretty good 5 reasons really. Developers intigrating with the community and the "fun" factor is what made me continue to play Halo 3 multiplayer 2 years after it was released.

I loved COD4 and MW2 multiplayer but it got a bit boring after a while. Mainly, because of the level-up system takes too long and so you don't get to play with the amazing guns and perks till you level up.
In Halo 3, everything was available from the start except the armour customisation. <...

They did release a patch that sorta altered gameplay. Not really fixed it.

Remember the Melee problem where when 2 people (shields down) melee each other and the one with faster internet would win.

And also, an early patch removing the crazy flying bodies when you melee someone. Remember how very early on when someone kills by melee, the body would fly off in the year as if the culprit did a falcon punch lol

I can now already see Halo Reach getting BEST SHOOTER and BEST MULTIPLAYER of 2010. It will definately be nominated for GAME OF THE YEAR but I'm pretty sure it will come close against God of War III (which is obviously going to be GOTY)

Man, the music is just awesome. Martin O'Donnel is a genius.

And the gameplay is seriously full OMFG moments.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS BETA! RELEASE IT NOW PLEASE!! >_<

Well that's if the banhammer works PROPERLY again this time round.

Took MS 3 years to properly distinguish between a normal console and a flashed one.

I agree with Ultimateidiot911

Second hand purchases are no different to downloading it for free in the eyes of the developers. Since, they are not gaining any money for it either way.

As much as I wouldn't like to see a small company getting bankrupt due to piracy, I like huge cooporations to be, in a sense, regulated by piracy. It's true MS has lost A LOT of potential purchases when people download Windows Operating Systems but does a company like that deserve to mo...

Factual Evidence, piracy on 360 accounts to less than 10% of console owners.

So there is a chance 90% will purchase the game. Or more (since its on multiple discs). I fail to see how SE will lose profit. And I fail to see how SE would gain more profit if it was exclusive.

Wasn't it the fact development period took too long and costs were too high that they decided to go multiplatform anyway?

And anyway, a lot of people who pirate movies or games or whate...
