Valkyria Chronicles is easily the best rpg on next-gen consoles (even if it's a tactical rpg), Disgaea 3 is a great game, White Knight Chronicles is even greater and it's coming this year in the West, also PS3 has the superior version of Eternal Sonata, a little gem called Folklore and may well be receiving Star Ocean 4 or Tales of Vesperia later this year. Oh, and I forgot The Last Remnant, wich is coming soon on PS3 but is crap for me. But that's not the end: FF XIII ships this year in Japa...

Actually, Sony's first party studios help each other continuously. Santa Monica is no different, they're all great studios and they share resources.

I'm anxiously awaiting this one. I feel no need for playing Gears of War knowing this game is going to hit the PS3. And frankly, I prefer this japanese-fantasy style over Gears' style.
Call me whatever you want, but I bet this game will surpass people's expectations. Just wait and watch.
...and I can assure you it's indeed a good game, worth buying if you're fans of the series. But overall I will give it a 7/10, because it's too much old to possibly compete with the latest entry in the series (P3 and P4, wich I loved). Also, the story isn't that much deep and there are some minor annoyances (like a somewhat cruel difficulty, which I read they got rid in this remake).
