In the end, Nintendo's gotta do what Nintendo's gotta do, and so far, it seems to be working out great for them.
I find it strangely amusing that Sony and Microsoft are continuing to bleed money fighting The Console War, while Nintendo opted take the more conservative, fiscally responsible approach by releasing affordable hardware that provided a unique gaming experience that appealed to the non-traditional gamer crowd.

We used to have to have this thing called "Unlockables", so if you performed certain feats throughout the game, you would gain access to things like new levels, costumes, etc.
Now they give you 20 "gamer points" or a "bronze trophy" and they make you pay $10.00/800 MS points for the levels and costumes.
ETA: I wouldn't mind the trophies/achievements if games still had both unlockables and t/a, l...
