I hope more titles this gen follow suit honestly. Give me prettier overall graphics and effects that can be upscaled rather than cutting out things just to hit native 4K.
Feel like everyone’s fascination with 4K is going to do this gen a huge disservice in the long run, since these $500 consoles do have their limits
Sounds like I’ll be waiting for this to be $10 then
"Worth" a purchase? Sure - looks like a very cool game.
"Worth" $70 - that depends on the person. As silly as it sounds, I had no issue "risking" $60 on a game that I may enjoy, but $70... may hesitate a bit on buying new titles blindly at that price point.
This just feels like another generic/sterile MMO that is visually solid but otherwise ends up as yet another empty game that has been delivered 100s of other times. I hope im wrong, because I used to LOVE the genre, but so many of these just seem like "why bother" nowadays
My comment was mostly in jest, but yes I meant “I can handle horror not in VR, but there is 0 chance I would be able to play or enjoy horror in VR haha. Way too much for me personally”
I’m fine with jump scares done right for my standard gaming setup. I also know for a fact that jump scares are one of the main reasons I have 0 interest in VR gaming tho lol
PS4 Pro holds up really well tho. Keeping those frame rates at 4K, I’ll take it
It has a brutal title, that’s for sure
I get that there is no perfect solution, but right now it feels a lot like both MS and Sony are saying "why do we care who buys them. As long as they sell". I feel like these companies are definitely big enough to work with retailers to build out some type of better model here.
In all reality it sounds like we are looking at a year+ from launch before meeting demand... which people can blame the pandemic all they want, but at this point its starting to look like ...
They should make them purchasable through the digital stores on the current console, and only available to people with active gamertags/PSN IDs for more than a year or something. Like 1 per gamertag/PSNID.
They know the consoles are going to sell - they could at least TRY to prevent the scalpers from using bots to grab them all
A game that plays itself! Yeah this just seems like a silly idea to me. If people are viewing it only as a way to "get around" aspects of the game (be that difficulty or grinding, etc) - then I think the game itself should just be made more accessible. (or add a "skip" type button).
I for one, had 0 interest in RE7 but am fascinated by RE8. The whole world of this game just seems so much more interesting to me.
Probably would be weird to buy a game before owning the console but it’s tempting lol
“Launch aligned stats” to compare against a console from 15 years ago...
It’s not bad that a game sells well. It’s the fascination in wanting to say “it sold better than something else”.
And it’s also why we will never get another interesting game like Days Gone, but we will continue to see Madden and COD rehashes dominating charts.
Gamers fascination with sales are wild. I really enjoyed Spiderman, but I don’t think it held a candle to the experiences I got from either TLOU2 or GoT.
Articles like this just feed the circle jerk
I wanted to make sure the Dreamcast wasn't on there. But then it was a shitty "1 item per page" slideshow sites so.... no thank you
I dont even put this all on ubisoft, and I dont hate "repetition" in a ton of games. For example I had just platinumed AC:Valhalla and really enjoyed it. Fenyx Rising had a lot of good going on imo (not terrible writing, fun concept) - but yeah ultimately it felt like an unfinished game to me, idk
I really wanted to enjoy this game but it ultimately just felt too shallow for me. After 15ish hours or so I felt like I basically had seen and unlocked everything (weapons, moves, etc) so then it just became an endless repeat for no reason
Well said. It’s a shame that all discussions on this site devolve into fanboy wars over what console did what.
It’s painfully apparent that the masses don’t really care about the end product the developers were aiming to achieve with their vision, but instead what technical specs they can push to “beat the competition”
