whatever you say man. the dvd's that were included in the legendary edition were packaged in sealed dvd cases just like other games. so whatever you say man. I have worked in game stores for 4 years now and was there throughout the whole debacle of halo 3 scratched discs...never had 1 legendary complaint or exchange because of scratched discs. so go ahead and keep on thinking that. perhaps you were just unlucky.

so I never had a problem whatsoever with my legendary halo 3 purchase. Sure I wish I could wear the helmet just like every other guy but hey you cant but its still a nice holder for my trilogy.

The scratched discs were from the limited edition due to how the discs were held in the tin case.

If you are that excited for a game is it really that troublesome to pick up a dr.pepper or email for a code? If it doesnt matter that much to you then don't do it. how could it be detrimental? as long as it is kept to a few small items and not any sort of important story related content it sounds fine to me.
either way if you live in NA its part of a dr.pepper promotion. so you can actually email the company and they send you a code for free.
if you want you can get 1 code and use it for all 3 items in mass effect 2 if you don't believe me look around google.
