I dont see what is so interesting about Desmond himself. The present time is interesting but Desmond is a pretty flat and generic male character with the typical smartass lines that every lead male must have by law these days. He pretty much the ideal media image of a modern male aka a douche. I dont know how such badass characters came from the mind of such an unlikeable guy. Maybe its a message that our generation pretty much sucks.
Desmond sucks. Biggest Nathan Drake impersonator there is. Every scene where he steals a Nathan Drake quip kills the game for me. They even took it further with the not so subtle sexual dialogue between Lucy *coughelenacough* and Desmond in AC Brotherhood. The Uncharted ripping needs to stop. What needs to be in AC3 is an actualy ending and not a cliffhanger.

Id expect nothing less from Rockstar. I think GTA IV has enough pedestrian dialogue to last for days. Its too bad this didnt stay ps3 exclusive though. If they wanted to match Heavy Rain in facial deatail as well as motion ps3 would have been the way to go. Cant wait for this game either way.

Dont get me wrong, the gameplay is great (regardless of the bad climbing controls). That is why I keep coming back to Assassins Creed. Hooping around rooftops and exploring has a pretty serene feel to it. It really sucks me in. But the biggest problem is with the story. Its been 2 and a half games and what do we know? Nothing. This game should have been an expansion. It was just assassins creed 2 in Rome with noob recruits to auto kill everyone with; The controls for climbing were GOW1 unresponsive so I ended up aiming for a ledge but jumping to my death; Not to mention SURPRISE another cliffhanger ending with no questions answered. Im glad I rented this game or else I would have felt even more screwed than I already was.

As long as you're mentally sane then no violent video game will ever affect anyone. Some think that video games make people criminally insane but people who went and and killed someone because of a video game were mentally unstable and would have done it regardless of whether they played the game or not. Its pretty stupid when the actions of the extreme minority of people affect the majority but that is how this world is.
