PS2 is making money, Blu Ray sales is up 700% since 4 months ago due to PS3. Guys, PS2 and PS3 are ran by the same gaming division. The profit from PS2 can fuel a PS3 price cut even if the hardware stays at high cost. If they decided to do so, they will funnel the money onto the PS3 to force a price cut.

There are some good games on the pS3 right now with free online play and blu-ray capability as well as linux for technophiles to mess around. I think there is every reasons to buy. I am still mad about my 360 for scratching up my DVD this past weekend.
As PS3 goes into 2008, price would still be lower, game selection would still be larger, competition from wii would still be there; the only thing it will be missing is the 3-5 million pre-install base...of 2007. Launch earlier has an advantage IMO. Not to mention 3rd party won't even release any crap on ur platform if your install base is not big enough. GTA DMC and other games (FFXIII MGS) would have been 360 exclusive if Sony launch 2008...

I think they meant the number of "Searches" ppl type into the box like "HD DVD" vs "Blu Ray", not in terms of how many "articles" include those key words. But anyways, i am not going to be stress out about this, amazon.com sales is a stronger indication of the market trend than google search anyways, because they represent collection of stats of random sampling of online consumer purchasing HD-media.

BD, Blu-Ray, and Blue-Ray
alot of people type Blue Ray with the "e", you know? with all of those added together, the google search exceeds HD DVD search
no matter how good it is..it will get points taken off for no online play...sigh its sad now adays. not very many games on ps2 has online play and they get high scores. The bar has been set.

This has nothing to do with Sony's strategy, ubisoft was the one that decided to withhold games release until a bigger user base of PS3 is out on the market. I think that is pretty dumb. It's really a double edge sword. Do you want to release a game when alot of other games are out to compete with you, or would you like to do what Resistance and Motorstorm did? When we talk about FF13, SE is mainly targeting japanese audience first. And in japan there is only Wii and PS3. Xbox is basically non-existence. So why would they bring it to xbox in japan? even if they did. the japanese audience would still get ps3 instead of xbox to play it. The only thing that's going to change is what's going to happen in the States. But with all the recent bricking of the 360s due to update/save and what not...the ps3 is looking more and more promising
