why do we even care how the three consoles are doing on ebay? it is not a retail store...70% of the consoles on there are used, so it's a majority of existing systems changing hands....i hate people that post stupid ebay "sales" as news.....
i love how sony fanboys are jumping all over this when this is something that a guy from australia is speculating microsoft will do....this is about as far from a rumor as you can get people, let's not get desperate with our fanboyism and start treating this as if there was an FCC filing for a new 360. seems sony fanboys are grasping at whatever they can...again.

i for one love experimenting with the 360 and it's library of over 300 games. go ahead and have fun with the $500 or $600 system you bought a long time ago in order to play great games sometime in the next 3 years.....
and remember what sony says "we are gonna have the best AAA games ever.....soemtime in the near future....and with no further delay, here are the games.....delayed"

and i love how in LESS THAN ONE YEAR FROM IT'S LAUNCH, sony has already discontinued BOTH of it's launch ps3's, the 60gb and 20gb models, and had a price cut twice....but according to them, everything is going great!

they are both correct, you are just reading it incorrectly. it says that sony announced the $399 40gb ps3 sku on october 17th....it didn't announce it was being released on the 17th, that is the day sony announced the $399 ps3 for the U.S....it will be released on november 2nd

it might have been that they had shipped 5.5 million units thru march 2007 (both companies seem to use the "shipped" numbers when saying how many they have "sold")
actually, sony had announced during the e3 conference that they fell just short of their 6 million target and reached 5.5 million ps3's sold at the end of March 2007. go check the e3 announcements from each company
i'm interested to see what the numbers will look like thru christmas for the 360 and ps3...with the ps3 introducing a $400 sku, and the 360 getting 2 games bundled with all their sku's starting next week, it should move alot of consoles for both. from the beginning of this year up to about july, sales were completely stagnant for both consoles.
if i remember correctly, the 360 had sold 10 million at the beginning of the year, and the ps3 was up to 5.5 million during their E3 s...
maybe they should have had 1,000 working on it so it wouldn't have been delayed every 6 months for the past 2 years.....

agree, they really need to add in a custom game search....it sucks when it becomes a challenge to play with your friends once all of you have different skill levels and want to play with other people also...custom game searches are something that is STANDARD on all online games....come on bungie, man up and give us custom game searches!!!!

its easy to gain 908% in one day when you were previsouly selling barely any to begin with...the npd numbers had come out for september and the 360 sold 528,000 units.....in one month....the ps3 sold likw 130,000..
lets wait and see how long the sales spike lasts for the ps3 since the same thing happened when the ps3 had its first price drop in july.....its elevated sales lasted not even two weeks before it sank back down.....
