Its hard watching the new generation of players get baited into the sleazy tactics that some people in the industry use to squeeze an easy profit. We'd like them to enjoy games that aren't saturated in some useless political climate or riddled with microtransactions or so minimalist in gameplay that its existence as a game gets called into question.

I've seen characters personalities get completely assassinated by some of these localization teams. Some characters end up sounding like a completely different person (mannerisms and personality wise) into some cringeworthy obnoxious twats. Its becoming more and more important to know who the localization and voice over directors are in these games since they are the ones who dictate how these lines are handled. I don't understand why they would want to 'westernize' a Japanese...

Its a really good game. Way more game content than burst. I'd say this is a REMAKE not a remaster.
Also, calling it repetitive is way to easy a label. That could honestly work for any game.

I'd say it is. Its hugely improved from the PSP version with much more weapons and content. The voicework has been redone and the lines sound much better now (though I admit some of them are hit and miss). The character customization is better than it was in the PSP version too. Its also only $20 as opposed to $40. You'd think thats a red flag but its pretty good bang for the buck for what I've played so far.

I have to say it does look very impressive.
Its mainly because Musou games tend to have very shallow combat mechanics. They are button mashers that tend not to require much attention and aren't very engaging in the long run. They are very flashy without much substance under the hood. The combat in games like Dragons Dogma or Bloodborne/Dark Souls have a much more engaging combat system as well as hold a very compatible aesthetic with Berserk so people would rather the game be made in those styles instead of a watered down button ma...
The Teen rating gets more eyeballs on the game. If they went with the blood and got a Mature rating then they would have to significantly scale back who they could advertise to. It would honestly end up being a waste since the game doesn't truly make use of the M rating and push heavily into really mature content the way something like that upcoming Berserk game would.

To be honest I've only watched the anime and am thinking of either marathoning the movies or the manga. I hear there are lots of books to go through so in the interest of time I may go for the movies.

About the gameplay though, while its true Guts is a character that fits well with mowing down hundreds of demons (and literally 100 soliders) Its the fact that its Musou that worries me. Those games tend to be pretty button mashy and easy to turn your brain off to. I want a Beserk game that will keep me engaged in the combat. The Bloodborne and Dragons Dogma games come close. I really hope they think about this.

Yeah, I hear Musous type games tend to be pretty lack luster and bare bones. I was hoping for something more along the gameplay style of Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Dragons Dogma.
Maybe these new games just aren't as engaging as older games so the player gets bored and stops playing.
