People didn't react this way in the past before these polarizing titles got popular with journalists. People aren't just perpetually angry. They got angry for a reason. The articles are what set off the behavior. Be it because they were misled, baited, or in some cases even outright shamed unfairly when all they were looking for was news about their hobby or whats going on in the industry.
Have to agree. Even on places like Reddit there are people with direct relation to companies running the moderation. Any negative opinion ends up getting deleted. If not, the echo chamber downvotes it into oblivion.
Its a tad different. Its procedural texturing. Its more for the look of the levels instead of the creation of levels like other games tend to have.
Probably inspired by "Go Right"?

With Devil May Cry, I like to look at it as style "through" substance. Its a landmark game whose concept IMO has yet to be surpassed.

EDIT: Also, this looks like the exact same article from an old site called "screengurus". The site seems to be down though.
Jesus bruh! Had to break out the ointment for that one! XD
But really though. Its a big to do about nothing. Its fiction and they shouldn't put too much stock in the characters appearance. Seriously comparing oneself to the figure of an idealized fictional character is not healthy. Games are are meant to be enjoyed for their gameplay characters and story just as books and movies are. Nobody goes to an Arnold Schwarzenegger or Rambo movie and starts comparing themselves ...
They are in a blistering desert. Have you even noticed how many times the party complains about how hot it is? And even if there wasn't a practical reason, its a game. They dont truly NEED a reason. Not for clothing choices, not for anything they decide to put in a game. Some realism is nice but it doesn't have to be a 1:1 representation of real life. Thats what makes seeing the nature of free expression in games so fun. They can create whatever the hell they want.
Y'know I never used this word in the past nor did anyone I know use the word. I'm still even reluctant to use it today when its now so embedded in people. But not for the same reasons thats in this. So when it suddenly appeared (on an online article no less) everyone thought it just sounded stupid. It made it sound like it was some kind of carrier occupation like a doctor or lawyer. Back then we were just 'people who played videogames'. But that doesn't roll of the tongue ...
NO! LIES! DIRTY DIRTY LIES! Muh feels are never wrong!!!
REEEEEEEE! *leaps at you like an alien*
Wait you mean this isn't written by highschoolers?
They want this to be true so bad. They are running out of boogie men to blame things on.
God I hate politics.
The millions that games like Monster Hunter and Pokemon make prove otherwise.
The cathartic feeling one gets from slaying a ferocious mythical beast after a long struggle is a great 'feeling' that is acquired by what the players 'do'. This doesn't mean that there cant be a hybrid of narrative 'feeling' and interactive 'feeling'. I personally would lean more towards the interactive side though. I don't want to play an 'interactive ...
Ha! It actually looks pretty decent. Love the references. Was hoping to see more though.
RIP
God thats terrible. Right before he could hit the 50s.
Dont forget how Capcom could have made it just as well with Dragons Dogma. Im sorry I got nothing against musou games. I actually think the idea of smashing through tons of enemies is neat. But from the gameplay Ive seen so far and the style of combat, the other companies would just do Berserk better justice gameplay wise.
Politicians should stay the hell out of gaming.
I don't know much about empty death threats from fans that get tossed about but at the very least it bred competition. It pushes developers to strive for quality which is always good for a growing industry. Wish this went into a bit more detail. its basically just 3 paragraphs.
Not sure if this is the right topic to place this but I think there needs to be a return to political agnosticism in games. Too much of a focus on politics or political correctness takes away from the idea that games are primarily made for entertainment and fun and not a political agenda.
Id say it should be widely made known by journalists that a publisher has this policy before the ability to preorder surfaces.
I agree that the consumer does have some responsibility. I believe they have the responsibility of knowing everything they really should know about a game before they decide to purchase. However, because the media is in the state its in now, consumers cant get access to the proper information needed before they decide to preorder something. It is f...
