I doubt it, it probably just came down to money.
The PS Vita does use the touchscreen for moving inventory and crafting, I don't see why the same was not done on the Wii U.
I did want to get it for my Vita and I was about to pre-order until I found out it's digital only...

I'm glad someone posted this exploit, I was able to re-download PT! The only reason I deleted it in the first place was because I was low on hard drive space and never thought I would have to worry about them taking it off PSN.

Microsoft has a way of determining if a legit Xbox 360 game is inserted into the Xbox One, does Sony have anything on the PS2 disc for them to do the same with it inserted into the PS4? Just speculation but I read someone else mention there is a special code around the inner ring of each PS2 disc which determines if it is not a pirated disc but the PS4 does not have a way of reading this part of a disc thus the PS4 is not able to determine if you are inserting a burnt copy of a PS2 game or a ...
PSTV plays the PS1 games that the PSV supports which is fewer than what the PSP/PS3 supports. I own Spyro and Crash on PSN but they won't let me download it to PSTV/Vita. But even on PS3 that supports all the digital PS1 classics PSN is still missing several most notably the Tony Hawk and Spider-Man classics, heck even Sony's own PS1 IP's are missing like Ape Escape and MediEvil II.

They've already started to destroy our games with the inclusion of micro-transactions in $60 games, previously this was a mobile exclusive feature but sadly it's crossed over into real gaming. I remember the days when all you needed to do to unlock a character, skin, gun, etc was play the game. Now games are making it impossible to unlock anything instead opting to force gamers to buy into the micro-transaction bullshit which I find makes these game companies look very pathetic.
How is Japanese only voice-overs a pro? Releasing a game like DBZ to a English speaking audience without a English dub should is a con. If you prefer not understanding what a character is saying we always had a option to switch to Japanese audio but now it's forced and that's some how a pro?
Well the two Unreal Engine 3 games I've played on PS4 ran and looked pretty shit (Injustice Gods Among Us, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5). But there were way more Unreal 3 games that ran good rather than bad. I would assume Unreal Engine 4 is way more optimized for PS4 and XB1. Regardless of the engine it mostly comes down to optimization, budget, and not rushing it to meet a deadline.
